Near us at Crofton south of Hungerford is the pumping station at the high point of the Kennet & Avon canal. The job is now done by a small electric pump but the original beam engines are still there and are fired up occasionally. One is a James Watt engine.

It will take some time for things to settle down so I know how well it has worked by the signs so far are pretty good.
