THE Mornington Crescent Thread
Discussion
Ah-Ha! Honourable puffpuff emerges from The Shadows in a shroud of phased percussion...you should not have even mentioned the Prince Albert - the water now filling your eyes precludes you from declaring the mode of Prince Albert...horizontal? vertical? shaft, hat or eye?
In the time it takes you to declare correctly from your one-in-nine chance, Victoria's bloomers will have been correctly placed on the head of the Statue of Eros, The green Micra will have been sold in Muswell Hill, to the Bloke from Brazil and I will have my All-Zones Red Rover ticket. The bus stop outside Himmler and Goldstein's Dried Squid Emporium in Golder's Green will be my embarkation point, as it is the only DMZ in the entire Mornington Crescent Game. I further invoke the Golfrapp-Gilstrapp relocation to post you, Second Class, to East Cheam from where you must, stark naked, plan your escape...
The Prince Albert is not something to be trifled with...

Towman! I am abashed!
Restraint in the Quotation of an Obvious Knob Joke has left me floundering in your wake. You have obviously been empowered by the Statue of Eros and now share His position and His mettle...forthwith you shall be referred to a Al. You now hold Picadilly Circus, my Red Rover ticket, the re-sprayed Nissan Micra and (as a consenting adult) the Bloke from Brazil (from Muswell Hill).
I cannot find any rule or scenario that prevents you from gaining Mornington Crescent, as I have trawled the rules back to the 33rd of Nowonder 864 AD. Prior to this date, this address was known as 'Grab-Todger Alley' and thus pre-dates the game as it stands. Short of a lightning-strike or some such 'Act of God', you have won!

I think not, under the 282 day "stall" ruling of 1942 (herbert junction tertiary decision) and no common acceptance from at least 6 members of "the frethren" and I think you will find the game is on, Piccadily being one of the "urchin" stations enables me to filander and claim free passage to Perivale.
OH! John 11:35 has been quoted! All players must now retire to beyond Zone 5 to await repercussions and collect any forfeits. Yeading is supposed to be pleasant at this time of year and is not a stone's throw from Wimbledon and Shepherds Bush. I feel Grimaldi's Exceptional Stride may be possible from either location. The Game is well and truly 'on', ladies and gentlemen...

Is it? You seem to have forgotten the 1982 Bank Branch second ammendment regarding 9 month stalls.
The game can only re-commence from hidden stations.
The Strand.
I invoke the Shaklan Rumlabinian clause from the Calcutta chapter established by good old "strangely brown"Farquhar of the Kings Hussars back in 1783..
Therefore, I believe that as a new player I can immediately go to Parsons Green and take an option to return via Angel - which gets me tantalisingly near to the objective in just 2 moves.
Come on chaps, I am only 3 moves away from Mornington Crescent, but you'll have to dig up some of the old colonial codacils to the 1750 rule book to beat me.
Can anyone here best me? I await to be vanquished, but I am optimistic that there are'nt too many people from the Calcutta chapter on here...
We shall see..

I too know the rules of the Calcutta chapter and am familiar with some of the rules from the 1750's. And as a fellow Calcuttan player I am forced to tell you that in 1756 Euston was declared a one-way station agaisnt your direction so unfortunately your going to have to take a different route round.
Sorry!

Bugger. I 've been found out. You are quite right, sir.
You're not old Bill "bugger me" Bentley are you! I thought you were dead !
Sorry about that episode with the riding crop, the lentil curry and the Colonels wife by the way. Hope the burns did'nt ruin things . It was a long time ago, no hard feelings...
You're forgiven. I hope that my findings didn't spoil your game and that you have a new idea, I certainly do but I have decided to keep my cards close to my chest so if you would like to present your move we might be able to help each other through with the 1783 rule that means pairing up and cross moving is permitted.

Just one question, are we playing under the 1876 'Dutch rules' that allow players of the same sex to pool thier reserves to get a head? Or the later 1927 'Isle of man' rules which forbid such moves?
Ahh but Vixpy which sex are you trying to help? Oh and pairs but not teams I belive are the precise rules.

Very well.
I for one don't hold by the Dutch rules allowing for same sex pairing to get a head. I had enough of that at boarding school.
Instead, I'll try the Amsterdam twist and call Picaddilly Circus. The lights are red, so you cannot follow me.
