It's never been 'closed' as such.

stopped formal use as a mail movement facility in 2003. They kept on some employees to preserve the facility. That's been going on for over 10 years! Glad they had the presence of mind and the care to do so though. What a job that would be, just oil the workings, take things to bits and put them back together. Great smile I think some of the trains date back to the 1920s.

St Joesephs Seminary, Wigan.

Was miles better before it got stripped out. Now used for police dog training. Was a real good explore. Had a library with books in Latin, a Observatory, various chapels, a taxidermy, sanitorium.

Here's some other pics of it...

Slightly different take on this, an abandoned holiday resort on Great Keppel Island in Australia. Went broke 6 years ago and has just been left since then. Only walked around the outside of it rather than "explore" as such.

Beach side pool full of sand with vegetation taking over.

Old tractor rusting away in the humidity.

Pathways covered in fallen palm fronds.

Another pool complete with fallen coconuts and other assorted crap

Strange as all the signs are there but there's been nobody there to read them for 6 years.

I've said this before but here goes again.

I'm yet to find something that I'm properly scared of but that stuff really makes me clench.

Can't stop watching it though.

daft really as you're as likely to die falling off a few storeys than you are from that. The risk isn't linear.

My head completely agrees with you. My rectum doesn't though.

well if it's at the point where i am getting vertigo just watching the video, it's not good.

According to the medical definition of vertigo, that's not what I struggle with.

I embrace the challenge of standing over something like that, but what they do is messed up.

In fact, I was once given the job of replacing the warning lights at the top of the stanchions of the Forth Road Bridge and couldn't wait to get up there but the job was given to someone else before I got the chance.

I could probably go up the main structure of the tower, but there is no fking way you would get me to climb out on the crane boom. My legs felt really weird watching that.

Maybe the engineers and authorities got confused.

"How are you repairing the lights on the Forth Road Bridge?"
"Big Rod I suppose
"Er, I'll get back to you on that..."
