Typical! That guy from action weather (IIRC) has predicted lots of snow from NY eve onwards for the north of England and Scotland, interesting radio interview with Paul Hudson (BBC local weather guy) regarding the sun and its affect on our weather.

Just listened too thumbup

Ok, so that's Saudi Arabia - now who's next...?

Effing Vietnam!!!!! http://uk.news.yahoo.com/snow-falls-vietnam-093936...

I think we can see why we're getting all the warmth - the cold is elsewhere frown

To be honest, I would happily trade a snowless winter if it meant the gales looking likely for later this week and on Christmas Day toned down somewhat.

Who knows. Maybe Christmas Day. Maybe around New Year.

It's a really mobile setup right now and the Atlantic is raging. The charts can't even accurately predict the strength and position of the storms on Thursday right now!

The latest model runs show it'll either be bad, quite bad, very bad or nonexistent!

Most likely, it'll be very windy unless you live in Western Ireland, Scotland or Shetland, where it'll be very, very windy indeed

To be fair everyone is asking for advice weeks ahead and both Puggit and Schmalex do warn that predicting that far in advance is about as accurate as tossing a coin and going "Tails it snows!"

It's a bit of fun and a bit of an education, even if I never really understand the explanations (bit too much like maths for my taste wink )

Very cold this morning here (near Halifax).
-1 and a thick layer of ice on all my car windows.

The local forecast is to remain cold, but with rain. How come that rain won't fall as hail or snow when it's so cold?
