Thread pruned for legal reasons.
Impersonating a mod is a criminal offence?
No, but the subsequent consequences can be. Time to move on

There are some facts to this story that you are clearly not aware of.

But then, when have actual facts ever got in the way ..... 1 person has already been banned.

So please move or we can just lock the thread. Less aggro for me smile

Fully aware thanks but lets not turn this into a mod bashing because it's isn't. Don't be so paranoid, not everyone's out to knock you and your sterling work.

Someone gets banned for "impersonating a moderator"?! Really?! It was a light hearted joke. And "legal reasons"?! Wow.

At a wild guess, it might have been the mod impersonator posting the contents of a private email between him and the hoaxed pher.

So what?

What law has been broken and what was going to happen anyway?

As posted above, it was all a joke, nothing malicious at all.

I am curious what happened now.

Can I as why mods aren't identified in some way? It would certainly stop any impersonators.

He posted his "I'm not a mod, only joking" type reply.

Nothing offensive. legal or anything else for that matter.

It was just a bit of banter AFAICS.

Oh well...

I'm scared. Someone once quoted a post and added me to the list of mods.

Am I going to get banned?

Yellowjack's posts in the Knob thread are getting worse and worse; liberal use of quotation marks to emphasise colloquial language and extensive text to explain how what he was doing wasn't in anyway baiting the situation, even though he posts there almost daily and every time, whatever happened is the worst example of driving ever.

Yellowjack is a little strange.

In the photo location game,a bit of fun,he once posted a long chapter on the state of British housing.

What you've just posted is clearly illegal so, yes, I expect you to be banned.

Why he isn't on the first plane out there, telling everyone what and how it happened, I don't know. He's clearly a highly informed and qualified UN intelligence operative.
You're being a bit cringeworthy now.
Don't worry, the opulence masks it.

I think he lives in Farnborough, I work near there and can assure that it'd have an obvious impact on your mental health were you to live there.
