I won a trip on Concorde a few years back. Came back 1st Class on a Jumbo as well (which was nicer, imo).

Won a Sega Dreamcast just as they were released, probably a few hundred quids worth. That was a Twiglets competition, I also got hundreds of packets of the damn things.

Won a free Jet2 return flight to any of their destinations, which I never got round to claiming and has since expired.

My OH has won a few things, and, if our e-mail yesterday is to be believed, we have just won an Ipod... See if it turns up I suppose.

I noted someone above said that people do these things as a hobby, actually there are people who enter competitions for a living, I kid you not?!?

In 2001, I won a BMW 316i compact in a Orange competition that I never entered! Basically Orange phoned up and said I had won one car (somebody else the other) and that the cars had been lying unclaimed for 6 months becuase they could not find contact details pointed out that as a Orange subscriber, surely they must have my number., Also, I did not remember enetering the competition, fellow insisted that I had done so by text?!)

Anyway thought that this was a wind up as he only left a mobile number but a few days later, another chap arrives at my work with a low loader and a brand new BMW, give me the keys and the V5 (unsigned), handbooks and buggers off within 5 minutes. No confirmation paperwork from Orange except that the V5 was in their name. Registered the car in my name as you do and Bob's your Uncle. So have stuck loyally with Orange, hoping for another car!

Dammit - I wondered what happened to it. You owe me the modern equivalent of a brand new BMW Compact.

What with inflation a spanking V8 M3 should cover it.

2 years ago I won a jewellery making set worth £100, first thing I'd won in years. And then last summer I won a family ticket to Hatfield Country Show, which was a nice day out for the family.

In the space of 6 months my little sister won a Wasgij jigsaw, an electronic game thing worth £40, and a DVD boxset, and then the magazine went bust so she hasn't entered any competitions recently XD

Just in case no one else says it: "YOU LUCKY bd!".

I once won a Spectrum ZX game back in the 80s, I know it was worth £1.99 as the price sticker was still on it.

Feck all since then.

Not strictly me, but my dad has won -

2 Mobile Phones
All expenses paid trip the 2007 Swedish Rally
Ipod Nano
Ipod Touch
32" HD Samsung TV
A few holidays/plane tickets
1st Class anytime Rail Travel tickets on virgin
Several stays in hotels
Large amounts of make-up
Loads of little toy thingies
Various bits of clothing

and a heap of other stuff. He enters online competitions in his spare time, and flogs the winnings. Think he has made a comfortable amount in the time he has been doing it.

6 years ago when I was "between contracts" I entered dozens, probably hundreds, of online competitions, won loads of stuff, a game cube, cds, t-shirts, lots of odd st, and a life size lara croft mannequin.. You need to enter stupid amounts of competitions though, and its fecking time consuming. Plus you are up against people who do it all day everyday and flog the prizes on ebay.

At one of the motor shows in the late 80s won a day with the Brooklyn Rally Team with Gwyndaf Evans. Only problem was they were forever 'not quite ready' or 'it would be available in a couple of weeks'. Never did get the prize. Pity really as I quite fancied getting scared s**tless in a Sierra Cosworth.

I did this at the end of last year for much the same reason. Entered 700 plus competitions, mainly for stuff worth having (so no T-shirts, cds etc but not really big stuff) and won exactly nothing. Haven't bothered since.

This site lists loads of competitions if you fancy a go. www.theprizefinder.com

The thing with competitions is, you have to enter them.

I never, ever do. It's the same reason for which I never win the bloody lottery.

Is this the site you used to enter the 700 competitions?
