Winter footwear....

Bought a cheap pair of boots from Wynsors here http://www.wynsors.com/perry-p-20562.html
£25, nice thick rubber sole, fur lined to keep my feet warm as toast. Had them for over a month and worn them regularly and they haven't fallen apart. Even of they last until Spring, I think I've had my moneys worth.
(Please note I do not tuck my jeans into the top of these like those kids that are too cool for school.)

Dubarry every time... Yes they are allot but looked after they will last a lifetime, my Dad has a pair that are nearly 20 years old and look no different to mine which are 5!
Great boot but only on ladies. Mobile Chicane said:
A Viyella shirt?
Please - not on anyone aged less than 60.
Well I get the sentiment I do think they are pretty nice and I am only 35 but I do of an occasion go with one and my Barbour! Please - not on anyone aged less than 60.
It to me is a very quintessential English look and while I know it is not so fashionable I actually like that and I even have the dopey black lab to go with!

Although I do have a quilted green Le Chameau jacket - which I love - were it not for the fact that I get called 'Madam' in shops whenever I wear it.
Nooo! I'm far too young for that!

Does anybody know of anything suitable for the ice but also leaving on in a shirt and tie environment? I Can't really be arsed taking my proper walking stuff as well as something smart. I say 'smart', I mean everyday office smart, so they don't need to be exceptional.
I wear shirt and tie for work (Engineering management role) and wear CAT Holton boots, have a black pair for work as i need steel toe cap and they look ok with smart clothing, also have a pair in Honey for wearing with jeans, great in the snow and last for years. Mobile Chicane said:

As much of a terrible cliché as it is you are what you wear and I am happy for folks to think I am whatever but I am comfortable with my choices and approach to life!

^^ I have a pair of Loakes with a rubber welted sole, which have been perfect lately
I did look at some chunky (not spacker chunky) Chelsea boots in town on saturday, they had welted rubber soles which weren't too thick.(i have a thing about shoes.....sorry)
At the expense of being classe as ghey (for being into shoes and A&F) I'm into shoes/trainers/footwear in general. Probably have more pairs than the wife LOL.

Take the smart suff in a bag. Need a suit at work, leave it there and wear comfy/warm stuff to and fro I've got a pair of rubber non slip attachments for my shoes from Sakhalin, they're brilliant! Just wear your favourite warm boots and stick them on over the soles, they're grippy enough to allow you to run on ice, using a spring to dig in and then your body weight causes the spring to coil and grip the ice further.
