I just sold my gear vr for £50 to a friend as I got it free with my s7 edge and wasn't using it.

It's worth buying Dreadhalls, the only game ever that made me shout out aloud while playing.

Just don't play quake Vr with the controller set in the mode that states 'can cause serious nausea' as it did and I felt very ill after 2 minutes.

I still have my preorder for the Sony Vr despite saying I was going to cancel it if I got a drone. I really want to see driveclub and project cars in vr.

And I still rather fancy the gear 360 camera.
In fact, as it doesn't weigh much, I think it could be mounted on the phantom for a 360 view from up above, that would be good.

Bought a new summer mesh motorbike jacket, pretty frivolous as it will probably only be hot enough to warrant it two or three days this year.

Just bought/funded two KAISR Originals via Indiegogo:

Details HERE. Looks like it should be good for holidays, packs up small but tough and waterproof.
Brilliant. I've also ordered 2!
Has everyone who funded/bought these had their survey for colour choice?

I had mine last night, went for grey and orange. Should be great for the summer!
Well, my first foray into purchasing frivolous stuff a crowd funding has hit another hiccup. At least you guys are receiving your useless tat, I only have the dream of owning it after shelling out $150 (what makes it worse is their "relaxed" copywriting style which really sets my teeth on edge)

Kaisr say in their latest update,
"One of our many competitors is not so chill about our KAISR and its popularity. They even took us to court in Europe. Pretty uncool of course, but we firmly believe we will win when all is said and done. In the meantime, there has been a preliminary ruling by a Dutch court. The ruling reassures us that the air scoop technology of the Kaisr lightweight lounge bag is perfectly legal. Our competitor can never stop us from bringing this unsurpassed technology to you, no matter how hard they would want to try.

However, what we still disagree about with our competitor is whether the shape of our air lounge differs enough from theirs.

For our backers in Europe this means that there may be some delay since we will adapt the shape of the product. (prototypes are awesome) The current product can no longer be ordered from or shipped to the EU. Don’t worry, the delay will be kept to an absolute minimum. We will update you next week."

Yeah right...with the product back on the drawing board, there's clearly no chance of getting this before our trip to Greece next week, or ever I'd imagine.
Yep, I'm equally cheesed off but I do have 8 weeks until we go away..... fingers crossed!

Looks like my warning a few posts later was well founded sadly. I've seen copies of the Lamzac (who seems to have had the original idea) all over the place recently, already for sale. I'm guessing Kaizr being so popular ($4,000,000 funded) have attracted the most attention. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Been in need of a new watch for a while. This seems relatively cheap and cheerful and I do love a kickstarter project.

Technically, I do need to do a Kickstarter trial as a customer, ready for using is as a company / seeking funding.

Thanks for making it a £57 trial.
Well, it reached the target! Now only about 4 months to wait for the watch!

Wish I'd gone for an extra strap now, but have gone for tan strap, black face and stainless steel outer. What did you both go for?
Can't decide!

You can buy these from Bimmertech with PnP harnesses.

It depends entirely on your set-up on the complexity of the set-up (base stereo being the hardest as there is not existing cabling to tap into, but it's requires no cutting of cables and if you are comfortable with removing trim and replacing it, the task is very straightforward to do.

Details here: www.bimmer-tech.net/audio-amplifier-for-bmw/
Thanks.

I have a F31 with option 676 (hifi set up) so that is clearly what I would need.

I indeed saw the Bimmertech page yesterday but was hoping you purchased it from somewhere in Europe. I could not find it anywhere else myself but hoped you did somehow. I have to say that I am a bit reluctant to import it from the US. Between the warranty risk and import duties that reduces the appeal for me.

I have been looking everywhere but I cannot find the real difference between the Bimmertech (allegedy designed for BMW) and the 'regular' Audiotec Fischer PP 82DSP which we can source in Europe. Besides the mounting bracket of course but that is not the most important bit.

Tons of stuff on Bimmerpost, however Bimmertech is based in Poland and they'll deliver to you without any problem from the EU.

The Audiotech Fischer PP82DSP is indeed almost identical but not quite....

- You get the correct harnesses which you need to plug into the OEM harnesses.
- You get the correct mounting bracket which you don't get from Audiotech Fischer. You'll have to find a location within the boot to mount it, plus you'll need cable extensions to reach.
- The Bimmertech version of PP82DSP has been hardware modified for the BMW HiFi system to make sure you can use the full power of the amp. With the regular PP82DSP you can't use all its power with the factory BMW HiFi system due to the level of signal provided by the head unit.

As you have the HiFi set-up, your install is very easy indeed. Literally just a swap.

Sadly for me, I need to install two harnesses right from the HU all the way through to the boot of my car, and I also need to tap into the electrics to power the amp. It's quite a job but I should have it done fairly easily this weekend. Just time-consuming.

Take a look here for more info: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=...

600 quid for an audio streaming device? holy balls...

You could buy a chromecast audio, a decent amp and a good set of bookset speakers for that kind of money, not exactly high end hifi budget, but damn...
That was my original idea... But I prefer a bit less mess. I even bought the ChromeCast Audio with exactly that intention, and haven't used it...

If it's rubbish, I'll sell it on... but the reviews seem pretty good.
So, my initial view... It's got fantastic power for such a small unit, but I don't think the sound quality is there at all. Too much bass, as well (non-adjustable).

I do believe that makes it a frivolous purchase.

Been wanting one of these for over 1 week now after flying my £30 Syma. Roll on the weekend.

It will do until I can afford the £1400 Yuneec Typhoon H.

can't be bothered finding it and I'm at work, but there is a clip on you tube of a big drone, with a petrol chainsaw mounted on it.

and some crazy scandinavians (who else) chopping stuff up with it.

very cool.

Did anyone else crowdfund the Amp iPhone audio case? https://www.ampaudio.com/

I did, about April last year, with delivery slated for fall 2015.

Towards that time updates started to dry up, vague promises that they were working on it, but that a couple of things had put them back a touch.

About a month ago I ran out of patience, asked for a refund, which I got immediately.

This week they went bust, https://medium.com/@AMP/soundfocus-may-2016-update... which will no doubt mean those holding out for it will get nothing.

It's a shame, I really fancied it as a product, was looking forward to it.

I thought/think exactly the same as you. It does gets slightly better when run in but is still frankly overpriced crap. As a boom box for the kitchen it'll just about do.

There's limited options in the Naim app, but you can alter the settings in some of the streaming apps like Deezer or Spotify.

The speaker gets good reviews in this thread on here but I can't understand why. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I have the other muso, it sounds fantastic but I've not heard the qb, however:

Selecting room position and loudness settings.

You can adjust the sound of your Mu-so or Mu-so Qb to suit both its location in your room and the volume level you like to listen at. If your Mu-so is placed close to a wall its bass may sound a little emphasised. If so, open the Naim Audio App settings menu, select the Room Position option and choose, ‘Less than 25cm’. Similarly, if you often listen to your Mu-so wireless system relatively quietly, it may help to switch on the loudness option in the Naim Audio App settings menu. Loudness applies a tone profile that compensates for your ear’s reduced sensitivity to bass and treble when the volume is low.
