Before the JP threads I had never even heard of Jason Plato. Soz, Jason.

My own 'meet a celebrity' thing - once stayed at the same hotel as Man United - and there, having his breakfast and looking moody, in a Gallic way, was my idol - Eric Cantona. I debated with myself the correct etiquette in this situation: a) act cool and ignore him, b) make "I'm not worthy" bowing motions or c) go up and interrupt his breakfast and ask for an autograph.
I chose 'C', thrust my napkin at Eric and asked for his autograph, ultra and I mean ultra politely. As I recall he had a forkful of food inbound at the time. He put down his knife and fork, looked at me, took my napkin, signed it and said " 'ello".

Top man.Seems my post has caused rather a fuss. I'm not normally the sort of person to write anything as controversial as that but my post at the time was reactionary rather than calculated. I won't be a hypocrite and apologise for it as I wouldn't have typed it if I hadn't felt, at the time , similar objection to what was posted before it.
On reflection I should have kept the thought in my head rather than typed it. I'm not going to react to any of the other comments posted after either.
As far as I'm concerned this is an end to the matter and I'd like to draw a line under it. If some of you don't want to let it drop , fine , post away but you won't be getting another response on the matter from me.
