Thank you.

Pleased to say it's more or less behind us now. Radiotherapy stopped a couple of weeks ago so apart from tablets and reconstructive surgery in the summer, she's beaten it.

If I turn the volume up on my TV or radio does it use more electricity?

What if I make the picture brighter?

I've always thought shaving the hair was all about control. As in "I'll shave my own hair off, so up yours cancer!" It's what I would do in that position.

My first card had a little £50 on it somewhere, which I believe was the limit a retailer should accept without authorisation.
That would have been your cheque guarantee limit for the accompanying cheque book, floor limits where different retailer to retailer based on assessment by the bank's fraud detection teams.

Could Britain be held to ransom if ISIS restricted the supply of tea?

They just need to find some way of shutting down Facebook, then the entire western world would collapse into anarchy within minutes

'Free' on the NHS if it causes an issue with confidence. They may even just cut it off no questions asked. Not sure about it growing back.

Reading about Noel Chavasse (VC and Bar), I wondered if winners of military medals get the whole medal again or just the bar for the ribbon.

On the subject of medals, a couple of years ago I applied for a received the 4 medals my grandfather was awarded but never claimed after WW2.

Had these medals been sitting in a vault somewhere since 1945 and therefore do we know how many medals went unclaimed?
