Secret tunnels under Manchester

However if a Moderator was to turn around and do what 28dl and you are suggesting that you do, we'd be banned from PH and most likely be getting a phone call from the site owners asking exactly just wtf we thought we were doing.
Perhaps that's the difference between a commercial website and a "club"...? (no disrespect to 28DL)Podie said:

Obviously on PH, we are completely open and we get our share of nobjockeys, however we don't turn around on them (as Mods) like 28dl did.
We just either have a friendly word in their ear - or if they are really stupid - leave them to you lot to devour

I'm sure if I wandered on there as a ex-MOD facilities manager, and was happy to risk my career and life by spilling the 'beans' on secret stuff, I'd be heralded as a hero to the site.
Put it this way, they've got guns and stuff.

If you have a genuine interest join and contribute rather than joining to pick holes in other peoples theories, stay, explore have fun.
Roofy, always interesting to see the other side of the coin. Glad you've taken the time to join PH and post. I've lurked on 28DL for some time, ever since a cross-post on another forum. I've watched from a distance as an armchair enthusiast as quite frankly I don't have the minerals to start tresspassing, abseil, climb or dig out earth (ok, the last one is laziness ).
Does that make me any less of an enthusiast? Hmm... interesting question. Some might argue that because I'm not prepared to do it myself, I'm not a true UE'er... then again, you may be surprised what a keyboard warrier such as myself can dig up.
I've never joined the forum, let alone posted and the way in which other people appear to have been treated has put me off trying to get involved - as well as other PHers, from what I've read on these boards.
There are plenty of intelligent people on this forum, who may be willing/able to contribute with answers, theories, suggestions, camera tips... or even help if you've got a car problem

I was wondering this over the weekend and was at the printworks on saturday so had a little wander over to the cathederal while I was there.
Next door to the Cathederal is an old building which is undergoing some work and I think this is where the 28dl guys got in from as there is no obvious security and the fencing is quite rickety.
Its a shame that they want to act like its all "Indian Jones" but its probably just the case of squeezing through a fence and climbing down into this buildings basement and accessing the caverns that way as I understand all the older buildings in that area had access to the caverns.
Tried to get the photos my engineer friend took after the bomb but he is currently away.
So you did what, stood outside the fence and speculated rather than checking to see whether there was access to said tunnel network?Next door to the Cathederal is an old building which is undergoing some work and I think this is where the 28dl guys got in from as there is no obvious security and the fencing is quite rickety.

Why dont you get your arse in there and check for yourself?
PoD I will ask him if the images are allowed to be posted on a public board etc... Oh and that Carrington powerstation is just down the road from me (live in Barton)

No, not actively doing stuff doesnt make you any less of an enthusiast but it does stop you from commenting on such things from an inside point of view and thus anything you think is merelyspeculation or hearsay rather than hard facts.
Rooftopper perhaps you could ask people on your forum to stop vandalising the Wiki page on the Cathedral Steps.

Fair point, but if you've got someone who is prepared to tap away at a keyboard, or even dig about in a library, or even have contacts who may be able to provide answers (for example someone who worked in construction, on the railway etc etc), then surely that would bring more to the site, and enable those who are prepared to do the first hand stuff to bring back better reports...?Team is greater than the sum of it's parts, and all that.

If posters on your forum continue to abuse the Wiki, I shall create links to that page on every single forum and outlet which I am capable of.

POD, in the first pic you can see the toilets, in the second picture road works cover that area so they must have been sealing them at that time.
