Watching an ad on TV for the AA, it said "If you lose your car key, they will cut you another", and it shows a key cutting machine cutting a key.

How can they do that if you don't have a key? Is there a magic web site they log into to programme a key cutting g machine?

smile
And these days a "key" is a whole lot more than a blade of metal

In light of the resurrected "I made a Doner kebab" thread, how on earth do kebab shops comply with food regs when these things sit on the spit unrefrigerated for days on end with intermittent heating ?

I want to know why the Rolling Stones don't play Jumpin' Jack Flash the way they did on the record. Tribute bands seem to manage it ok.

They don't, they get a fresh one each day. Many of them go through several elephant legs each day.

Can anyone explain to me why a chamois leather is at its least absorbent when it's at its driest.
Off the top of my head, surface tension. Water is absorbed into the leather by capillary action and expands the internal pores. If the material is too dry, the capillary channels don't link to the surface and can't wick up water.

Hhhmmmm, pretty sure I've seen many a half used leg sitting on a spit at lunchtime rather than "unused portion must be thrown away at the close of business". Interesting advice to limit portion size to avoid waste !

He thinks that you think portion size refers to the amount given to a customer whereas he thinks portion size refers to the size of the elephant leg as in using a smaller elephants leg so that at the end of the night you have less to throw away.

Ah, couldn't see how a portion would refer to the slab. Cheers.

How severe a crime does it have to be in order to be tried at one of the big courts (magistrates?) in London?

Just reading about the guy who murdered Jo cox and he's being tried in London. Wondering why, when as far as can tell, the offence happened oop norf and both people involved lived oop norf too.

I wondered that, assumed it was because she was an MP and maybe the rules are different, rather than the severity of the crime.
