Can someone remind me of the hours/days you can go to Costco with normal membership, haven't been for about a year.

Dead easy - move the meat over, remove the grill, top-up the coals, replace the grills and meat, away you go...

The charcoal grates/cradles are also independently height adjustable via cranking handles - another useful feature for controlling the temperature (via the built-in temp. gauges).

Spent a while cooing over this at the Sheffield branch on Sunday... When a decent Weber is around £100, this is a lot of metal for the money!

I had a look at those ones in costco last year, didn't look particularly well built to me. Although with costco's returns policy I don't suppose it matters too much.

Depends what you are expecting for quality. I thought it was at least comparable to my Weber. I have no doubt you can get better ones but not sure you could do a lot better for the price.

I had a play with the bbq above and the coal height adjustment arm was not supported well and the one out on display's mechanism was broken already. Felt a little flimsy.

As I mentioned, I've had mine for 3 years and the build quality is perfectly good and I've not had any problems.

It's a good size, the dual zone is a positive boon and the adjustability is fuss-free and simple to use.

The charcoal height mechanisms can stick a bit after a period of inactivity, but some preventive maintenance before packing it away for the winter cures that.

For a detailed view of the kit, and more on functionality, have a butcher's at the manual...

There will always be advocates for a single make, and I daresay Brinkmann... has as big a following in the 'States as Weber does.

Horses for courses really, but I'm well chuffed with mine smile

FWIW Brinkmann are every bit as good as Weber.

It was black and had gas lifters on the top opening bit, and loads of drawers at the front.

Can't remember if it was on wheels or not to be honest.

Another visit to the Coventry Costco last night with the entrance fee hitting almost £700.00 even though we didn't buy anything unplanned. Lots of great meat and fish though for the freezer and the usual bog rolls/kitchen rolls/tissues and food stuffs for 3 months at least.

Anyway, they have a really nice workbench with overhead storage which Mrs TT offered to buy me for my birthday smile However it doesn't come flatpacked and they deliver it built. Couldn't find anyone who could tell me about delivery costs so Mrs TT is going to call them.

I forgot to take a picture and can't find it on their website so if anyone has a pic could they post it up or email it to me please?

Oh, and just found out they are opening a Leicester branch soon which is just up the road from work smile 1st December is target opening date.

ETA: Found a pic:

I too, have just discovered CostCo.

Somehow managed to spend £275, although I now have a lifetime's supply of toilet roll. And the world's biggest pineapple.

I don't have a barbecue. Yet. After the next visit, who knows?

Don't forget lemons for the G&T. Costco's lemons rock.
