Given to me by the estates director at the LSE

When talking in front of a large crowd (conference) always talk to the person at the back of the room. That way you wil bel loud and clear for everyone to hear.

Life aint about what you actually do, its about what you do compared with what people expect you to do. Its far better to manage expectations and surprise people than promise the stars and only deliver the moon.

My dads advice:

Only tell people what they really need to know.

So true and would have a)saved me a lot of grief from saying the wrong things to the wrong people throughout my life and b) facebook, twitter and PH wouldn't be as banal.

The first base I took you too cost around 2 million to build and it also has a daily maintenance cost. you can make plenty of money doing missions but they can be quite dangerous. Finding and selling vehicles is pretty good too.

Say hi if you see me on. I tend to ignore the chat when it gets busy though.

There's a bug in the forum where after logging in you're often taken to the thread you last posted in. As well as a few other bugs of course.

I don't buy it. I suspect it's sound advice but in code.

My first boss said this to me on my last day at work before going to university aged 19.

"Try not to acquire any skeletons. If you do, make sure you remain on good terms with them because at some point they will come out of the cupboard."

He was an old family friend and though he didn't know it at the time, I knew all about his skeletons and one did re-emerge in his life with pretty dire conseqences.

I have always remembered that advice and have tried my best to do as he said with maybe a couple of exceptions.

My mate said to me a few years ago that money comes and goes.. it's always stuck. In the past I have kept my money and missed out on things I wanted, usually car parts. Now I just think if I have the numbers and I want something, I get it.

If it flies, floats or fks rent it.

Think twice, cut once.

Start the car DIY long before Halfords closes, not long after.
