I find These really good. Maybe not quite as narrow as some, but perfect in the Cerb and really comfortable!
Aren't you worried that people might think your a gay Belgian ?Function over style? But do look weird

My trusty Converse All Stars - the only items in my footwear arsenal that won't push down all three pedals in the Caterham at once - are (no pun intended) on their last legs. They are blimmin' ideal for the job - comfortable, nice and narrow and with a thin sole, but they are pretty much falling apart.
There may be some who find the idea of a 43 year-old bloke wearing "trendy" basketball boots a bit, well, y'know (Dave2000modelsanhour was one of them) but that doesn't really bother me.
Before I just go out and buy a new pair of Converse, I wondered if there were any (reasonably priced) alternatives I might consider. I quite like the look of the Piloti Prototipos, as featured in the "Gear" section of the latest TG magazine (although maybe not in yellow and green).
What I don't want is anything that makes me look like Carlos Fandango when I hop out of the 7 to fill up at Tesco. I'd prefer driving shoes that look like, well, shoes.

......but I thought you were only ever supposed to wear All Stars when they're in this condition?
I just had to buy a new pair, but my old pair in white, splatter with oil, oil paint, charcoal, mud and possibly kangaroo blood, just had so much more character, and I still have them
I am not going out in public in the new pair until they are a bit more beat up.
What about a nice pair of Onitsuka Tigers?
I have had a few pairs. They're brilliant when driving, fantastic feel and nice and narrow. The only slight downside is that they dont have heel wraps, but then again I guess you don't need them for karate.

Excuse the phenomenally cheesey photo, but I found these on a stall at Goodwood last year. Managed to barter them down to £30. If you're wearing jeans they look like normal shoes but obviously you look a tt in them if you're in shorts. They're fantastic for driving and with a bit of ankle support they're great on long journeys, especially with a low driving position where your legs are straight.
it depends whether you want a traditional driving shoe or a modern training shoe. I think you've probably hit the spot with the piloti. however how about something like these .......

i have a similar problem to you, owning a 206 as most people know, anybody with a pair of feet strugles to use it. My big trainers struggle to fit properly, i catch the brake with the accelerator, get my foot stuck on the clutch between the steering column, and the thick soles mean i cant feel exactly how much pressure im putting on the brakes.
The best ones ive had so far are addidas goodyear trainers, narrow enough to fit on the pedals but not uncomfy and thin enough to feel the pressure on the brakes but not thin enough you feel every little texture change on a footpath. And they dont look out the ordinary (= job done =P
