Hi Chaps, I'm after a starter kit.

The missus just bought this http://www.vapouriz.co.uk/electronic-cigarette-acc...

I don't really know what any of it does, what the pluses and minuses are for? etc.

Any whom, I'm not after spending too much so whats a good shout?

At the moment for a no fuss fill and go atomiser, Aspire seem to have the lead, with their mini Nautilus tank and the (BVC) bottom vertical coils. For the same money your missus spent your could get this. Its what I am currently vaping while typing this, after 117 days off the cigs. The carbon fibre battery maybe a bit of a novelty but it works well.

I had a puff off today.

Whilst waiting in town I parked up opposite an E-cigs store. The owner was on the step puffing on a huge E-cig (looked like a didlo) and I was puffing on my Marlboro lights!

It was like a Mexican stand off. Each one fixing their gaze towards the other whilst taking deep puffs of their chosen narcotic. hehe

That's the point I've been making for weeks now. It's like walking into a 1980s IT convention in here

Bottom line is you smoke because you are addicted to nicotine. You could use a patch, gum, tablets etc to get your nicotine fix. What an electronic cig does is provide that nicotine fix in a way that a lot of people prefer.

The liquid contains a small amount of nicotine (you can change the amount) it is fed into a wick that surrounds a coil of wire that when heated vaporises the liquid that you then inhale and blow out.

You need a battery to provide the power and something to contain the liquid and atomiser/coil to provide the vapour. The kit I posted a link to above will do that. If you watch a couple of reviews on Youtube you will get the hang of it

These are top filling, the nautilus is bottom filling, I will leave that to you imagination on what that means.

FFS what would your response be? I really would be interested to hear that.

Someone has asked which is a good starter kit. I have pointed them at a good kit and provided links where they can buy one and links to Youtube vids to show how they work, how they go together, filling etc. What more can I do?

Look at what his response to you was. He didn't understand a word of what you said. That should tell you something.

That just means that my idea of creating a wiki should be done as it would be the best place to point new people rather than talk the advanced stuff on here and they just get confused.

I can pretty much guarantee that, but it won't be from smoking.

And I left and haven't smoked since. That was 30 minutes ago.

First of all, that kit has a 'top coil' tank. In other words the coil or atomiser (the bit that turns liquid into vapour) sits at the top of the tank, most people now prefer 'bottom coil' tanks, that is, the coil is in the bottom of the tank. Battery looks OK.

Secondly, that coil is 2.8ohms, that is quite high and you will need to crank up the voltage a bit on the battery to get a decent vapour.

Thirdly, you will not get much better advice than you will get from Cotty, you can simply bypass the learning curve yourself if you wish and listen to what he says.

How much liquid did you get, what strength and what did you smoke before and how much.

Just in case you got low strength liquid when you are a Marlboro red smoker.

The below should help you work out what you need to start on as it has % and equivalent ml strengths... (ignore the types of liquid, I'm just showing you the strengths).

I do appreciate the advice but I haven't got time to read all the thread, nor will I be walking round with my head held high with my MASTER VAPOUR 2000. I just want to quit the fags.

Can I pick up these?
