Not heard much mention of this on the thread from memory but does anyone make up their own EJ?

A friend of mine has started using this as the base liquid and then adding his own flavours.

At £6 for 100ml of the stuff it looks ridiculous value and the flavours are £2-3 for 10ml. Apparently most only need to be mixed at 10% so that's <£10 for 100ml of juice...
I've just started again (pretty skint this month so can't get my usual stuff!)

I made up some spicey vanilla custard around 2 months ago, let it steep 3-4 weeks and it was pretty good. Just this morning made up a couple small 5ml bottles of cherry cola & cherry menthols to see how they are after a few days steeping. Better to make up a few small samples to try out vs a big 30/50ml bottle then not like it wink

It's pretty easy, loads of recipes online with a fair few 'clone juices' so you can make up something similar to my fave gourmet juices! but costs a fair bit to get going as you need the different syringes/measuring/mixing tubes plus a variation of flavours & your VG/PG to get the different ratios right, plus the nicotine juice but that lasts ages....and a few different sized bottles. Probably spent around £60/70 but have enough to last me months now.

Hopefully this thread is back on track and no more bhing rolleyes

So for any guys interested in stepping up to rebuildables (its well worth the effort guys) here's a couple I've bought over summer.

RBA's I've gone for a Heron clone from Fasttech. This things super easy to build, very cheap for what it is and not far off my Taifun GT for flavour.

https://www.fasttech.com/p/1830408

Then got another small RBA to go with my nemesis mini (14500/14650 sized mod) Bit fiddly to rebuild and a pain to get right just using cotton, too much and you get loads of horrible dry hits....get it right and its fantastic. Just like a mini Taifun GT, but as said a bit fiddly and not as reliable....so maybe not ideal for anyone's first RBA (the Heron would be perfect though)

https://www.fasttech.com/p/1570800

Then got a couple drippers (RDA) and both are pretty good. Ones a magma clone which is easy to rebuild, adjustable airflow control and gives TONS of flavour. The others a Veritas clone, bit fiddly to rebuild as the top nut keeps moving and wrecks the coils, adjustable airflow again and gives plenty of flavour. Out of the two I'd go for the magma, better flavour and less faff....it's the best dripper I've got....

https://www.fasttech.com/p/1718100
https://www.fasttech.com/p/1816700

And a decent mod to go with them! I'm a big fan of copper mods, this ones a Manhattan clone. Works a treat, nice quality, magnet switch and probably the best mod I've bought so far. Heavy but good. The genuine ones incredibly expensive so the clone is a steal at this price smile

As we all know their coils are great but they are pricey at £5.99 and £6.99 each.

Well, Virtual Vape are now doing the exact same coils for £3.99 each.

Check them out:

Good find!

They're pretty easy to rebuild yourself with a micro coil & organic cotton but never got mine a good as the NV coils. These look just the ticket....especially if you've got a few different Kanger tanks smile there's a few quid saved there!

I did exactly the same. I now have 10x BVC non-Nautilus coils.
Anybody have any experience of which clearomizers they would work best in on a Provari mini?

Very impressed with the Nautilus now I have the correct BVC Nautilus coils, but thinking of picking up another clearo which can use the non-naut BVC coils.
Does that have ego threads in which case this would go

Cheers, thats way more than I wanted to spend on what is essentially a frivolous purchase. Might just stick with a regular one, the one above this post with the carbin fibre finish looks good.

Wondering if you guys could help me, im a smoker and have used a standard e-cig before sucessfully for about a month but it was plastic and i grew tired of it leaking constantly and the battery going dead all the time or not working when its cold and started smoking again. Now i want to give it another go but with one of those pro tanks and a larger battery as i tried one and it was massively better than my old one! So can anyone please link me in the right direction?? As i suspect it will be cheaper than going in my local shop.

If your happy with Kanger kit (protank/aerotank) this ones decent:

Aerotank Mega
http://myepack.co.uk/clearomizers/kanger-aerotank-...

Bit smaller and these are also good:

Aerotank V2
http://myepack.co.uk/clearomizers/kanger-aerotank-...

Smaller again (best of the 3 imo)

Aerotank Mini
http://myepack.co.uk/clearomizers/kanger-aerotank-...

If you don't mind trying a different brand these are excellent tanks from Aspire & Beyond Vape (better than Kanger imo)

Aspire Nautilus Mini
http://myepack.co.uk/clearomizers/aspire-nautilus-...

Beyond Vape Silo Tank (out of stock again....my next tank as it sounds awesome!)
http://www.provapes.co.uk/products/beyond-vape-sil...

The Nautilus mini & Silo Tank use the same coils, make sure you get the BVC coils for these and not the BDC coils as they're miles better.

The Kanger tanks (first 3 I linked) use the same coils but 100% worth forking out the extra money & getting a Nature Vape coil for these instead of using the standard Kanger coils.
http://www.naturevape.co.uk/store/#!/~/product/cat...

Or these (same but cheaper & in stock!)

May I quote someone new to e-cigs

I just wanted to say a big 'thank you' for this thread, especially to all the regular posters.

It has proved absolutely invaluable to me in acquiring the basics about vaping, and in helping to navigate the thickets of jargon that confront anyone new to the topic.

I am currently puffing away happily with my Aspire Premium Starter Kit; I haven't had a cigarette for 3 days, and haven't missed them.

For anyone looking to start, I would have no hesitation in endorsing the recommendations here of the Aspire Premium Starter Kit with the Nautilus Mini clearomiser. It's a very nicely-made, easy to assemble and use, and works beautifully. I also bought a Kanger Twist starter kit, which uses T2 clearomisers, and for my money, the Nautilus Mini is in a different league in terms of the flavours produced.
The kit is this
http://www.ukecigstore.com/aspire-nautilus-premium...

I recommended the same kit to my brother in law. He didn't smoke while he used it but not being very organised ran out of juice and started smoking again. New juice arrived back vaping, off the cigs, ran out of juice, back on the cigs until new juice arrived.

Yeah, I have been using these:

$2.16 (that's dollars mind!) for 50 coils, post free from Fasttech.

I have been in a coil building frenzy.

I find the bits that eventually fail on my coils are the little rubber grommets in the bottom.

These Fasttech coils are definitely not as good as Naturevape but they are not too bad at all.

As an aside, regarding the nautilus with the air holes, a simple pleasure I get from using it is that if you blow back into the device, you get a squirt of vapour from the air hole. I have noticed that the second largest hole gives the best and most defined jet.
hehe So I'm not the only one.
Kanger Aerotanks do this too smile The misses doesn't find it as amusing as I do.

Thanks for this, always amusing.

The kit depending on which you buy should come with 5 coils. Most people get a week out of a coil but it depends how much you use it. Glued to your face maybe not a week, couple of hours a day maybe a few weeks. If it starts tasting burnt and the vapour productions drops, swap it out.

Juice wise most tobacco flavours make me heave. The only one I can vape on is Benson and Fenses from http://www.paradisevapeuk.co.uk/

The juice is usually made up of VG (vegetable glycerin) and PG (propylene glycol) in a 50/50 mix. The PG gives the throat hit and the VG gives the vapour. But a lot of companies allow you change the ratio, so if you don't like the throat hit go for a higher percentage of VG. The level of nicotine can also affect the harshness of the vapour. Im down to 6mg of nicotine and 100% VG juice to wean myself off it.

You've already had some excellent suggestions above, but if you aren't too bothered about the size of the kit you use and are more concerned with ease of use and battery life I can highly recommend the MVP2 as an excellent battery. I got sick to death of the pencil style batteries requiring a proprietary charger, being un-useable when charging, not lasting long enough between charges and being a bit flimsy.

With the MVP2 I get 2 days between charges, it's got a low battery indicator so no surprises, charges via a standard USB cable (a godsend believe me),can still be used whilst charging which is great when in the car, at home or at work and is utterly reliable (I've had mine 12 months +).

The tank supplied with the kit isn't very good but a decent replacement costs <£10. I would also advise looking at naturevape coils as they are very good indeed and easy to maintain.

For <£50 upfront you'd have an excellent setup that would last for months and give about as good a vaping experience as it is possible to get for the money. Then all you've got to do is find a juice that suits you...

Hope this helps, and good luck.

Thanks it looks a good bit of kit but not keen on the size of it really. Think i'll go with the aspire kit to kick off with as i have a spare battery aswell if that was to run out and atleast this one has an indicator!! These nature vape coils, will they fit onto the nauticus mini tank? Little bit gutted they only have black carbon as i wanted silver but hey ho.

No problem. I thought the same thing when I first started vaping and tried any number of different batteries but found they all had the same limitations. Since getting the MVP2 I've not bothered with anything else in over a year, it just does the job with no fuss.

I don't tend to vape whilst out and about though TBH so the size has never really bothered me.

I think SWoll makes a good point in relation to the need to consider how long your battery will last you. I was using the battery that came with my Aspire Premium Kit very regularly all day today, taking a puff or two every two or three minutes at a guess. I started at 8:30 this morning, and it ran out of power just before 8 this evening. I think it takes about 6 hours to fully recharge, so I was glad to have another battery charged and ready when I got home from work.

I don't know what sort of smoker you are, but if you're going to be using it throughout the day like me and want to avoid a situation where you can't vape while the battery is recharging, I'd suggest either buying a second battery, or else buying something like SWoll suggests, which will last considerably longer between charges.

Good luck with whatever you choose; hope it works out as well for you as it has for me - fourth day without cigarettes, and haven't missed them at all.

Edit:- sorry, just seen from your later post that you already have a spare battery...

It is all down to usage and circumstances but as Mark says there is nothing worse than a dead battery when you're first getting started, especially when you're vaping like a madman as everyone does at first IME. All too easy to reach for the fags again...

That's another reason why everyone on here will advise to have 2 of everything, including the special chargers for the aspire/ego type batteries.

With regards to the NV coils, they do a number of different types that will fit pretty much any of the decent quality clearomizers available.

Just want to chime in there and mention that they will not work in an Aspire type tank. Be it nautilus/mini or otherwise. Although there is talk somewhere (can't remember where I saw it now) of them attempting something with those as well.
