Another famous ex F1 driver took a shine to one of my female bar staff. Less said about that the better but I had to have words with her about her responsibilities and professional standards whilst on duty.
Jackie Stewart?

I bet he is too devoted to his wife.

I say James H.

I’m not sure you’d win that bet.

Martin Donnelly-absolutely lovely chap, met him when I picked up my Elise some years ago at a Lotus dealer. Happy to chatter away for hours, tell stories of his F1 career & accident, and has a typically Irish dry sense of humour. Was also happy to sign the underbonnet of my car. Super ambassador for Lotus.

Ronnie O’Sullivan-contrary to his sometimes stand offish TV image, he’s polite, quietly spoken and considered-was happy to sign an autograph for a star struck 17 year old me some years ago and have a quick chat about snooker. His coach is also a great bloke-I got locked out of a frame at the Masters final a few years ago, and sat outside in the concourse with a pint watching the frame with his coach, who talked me through every single shot he played!

I picked up Jarvis Cocker at Eurostar, St. Pancras in my taxi years ago, he asked for the Covent Garden Hotel.
Can’t remember what I said, usually, “Okay”, or “You got it”, or sometimes just a nod of agreement, but as I crossed Euston Road, into Judd Street, heading toward Russell Square, and eventually Monmouth Street, he said, “You DO know where this hotel is, don’t you?”
I replied, “I’ll take that as a joke, okay?”
He said, “Okay, sorry.”
So as far as I’m concerned, I thought he was going to be trouble, but he was okay, eventually.
People. So common, Frank.
Not Saint Martin's College then.

Chris Evans - Genuinely nice bloke who isn’t the cocky arse he sometimes appears to be on TV. Comes across as extremely intelligent and highly astute in normal conversation which probably explains his otherwise unfathomable success.
Steve “Love the show” Wright. Very strange. I think he has “issues” of some description, just not sure what. It’s like he was in a different time zone or something.
My old boss used to work at the Beeb for Radio 2. Said Mr Wright treated his team badly, very high and mighty. Compared to Mr Wogan who apparently always said please and thank you and treated his staff very well.

I said "Hello Mr Snow" to Jon Snow from C4 news once when walking past him on a quiet Knightsbridge street. He replied "Hello Sir, how are you?"

Seemed nice enough. A bit lanky. Well dressed.

Probably appreciated the good manners, to be fair.

I met Ed China once. I was in B&Q Slough, and instinctively when I saw him went 'Ed'. He turned, And I said 'sorry, I don't know you personally, I'm just a fan of your show' He walked over reached his hand out and shook mine. S then said 'where do I know you from ?' I said 'Wheeler Dealers' He interjected, looking at her and said 'sorry about that!' grinning.

I just said nice to meet you, I'll let you get back to your shopping. He came across really well.

For a while a friend used to go to Saracens rugger games, the amount of times we met players was unreal, most of them are just normal fellas, can't think of one that was a bellend. They were all fine, even the ones you expect not to be!.

Once sat at Leicester near the players wives, I really did not know what to watch, the game or them, some of them were utterly stunning!

Très drôle, everyone’s a comedian.
Wash your mind with bleach, I was a real taxi driver not a wannabe.
It’s not rocket science, you just need a modicum of intelligence, and a lot of determination.
Uber drivers would like to be real taxi drivers.
Some chance, they’re just slaves, who have to work for peanuts.

Not Saint Martin's College then.
You may be confusing the old Central St. Martins, corner of Southampton Row and Theobalds Road, Holborn, with Covent Garden Hotel, Monmouth St. Covent Garden.
ETA, whoops, just remembered the lyrics to “Common People.” getmecoat

Did you ask him about Common People?

I'd love to meet Jarvis - I used to live near Burdett Road and have seen it all smile

When he did the Michael Jackson 'assault' I was in tears.

As I telephone engineer, I've worked for quite a few well known personalities over the years and can't remember any bad experiences but then the majority of the times they are usually within their comfort zone at home rather than on show in public.
Best guy I worked for was the actor Larry Lamb who was having some issues with his broadband. I arrived outside his house a bit early first thing in the morning but he came out to invite me in for breakfast and a coffee before I started. Had a lovely chat for nearly an hour about a variety of subjects and was genuinely interested in my opinions and what I had to say. Lived in Warren Mitchell's old house in Highgate.

I've seen more than most people would care to consider, but we'll keep it on topic 'Famous people'.
I'm not famous and I intend to keep it that way.

I've met a few rally drivers over the years Colin McRae, Richard Burns, Carlos Saintz - hard work the lot of them, most would not even say hello to you at breakfast in the morning at 4am.

Solberg and Gronholm were perfect gentlemen, Nicki Grist even better.
