Absolutely foul drive up to the Midlands in the fog this morning. The fog was a pain too

Yes, hints that the mild spell might be shorter than originally thought, and the colder return colder than before..........Much warmer now - but plenty of chatter coming out about a potential Scandinavian high coming. Let's hope...
(I've probably just jinxed it.)
Nope, not a great deal. A couple of half decent storms, one nasty-ish one, and some sprinkles. Not much so far this year, but we've another 4 months to go...
A little more due Saturday...no accumulation expected.
Another 3,000 feet higher...they get a lot more. The mountains will have continuous coverage until may from now.
I think this year will have a fair bit more than last year...we'll see.

Sooo... Christmas is coming. What's going to happen?
Frankly, it's far from clear. There is little uniformity in the charts from the various suppliers. GFS and ECM are both pointing towards a possible high pressure system arriving to our NW. This could open up an Arctic flow to us, positioning would be key.
Plenty of other evidence of just average weather, like we've had. Little evidence of an Atlantic onslaught
And then there's this sort of chart (just for fun!):

Hello pot!
-21c this a.m.
Dare you to go out for a pee !-21c this a.m.
You don't want to do it into the wind, though. Not for that reason, but because it gets rather breezy inside your pants and warming up takes an eternity.
