Quite a few meteors flying around last night, and now we're on thunderstorm watch. Nothing too big though.

You get really clear skin in proper hot places because you're always sweaty. Death Valley was the hottest I've experienced. Too hot.
As I said in an earlier post, driving through Death Valley on the 28th July we had a temp of 127F (52C) according to the hire car, managed about 15 mins with the roof down before I gave up and retreated into the shade and aircon with the roof up smile

Puggit, do you think that heat will stick around in London the weekend of the 26th?

It's a bank holiday weekend, fool!

Good odds at this point - but too far to be certain, especially as hurricane season is cranking up

I saw weather maps for 1pm and 4pm and both had lightning symbols on them.

Thames Valley area for 1pm ,anybody get some ?

Moved east and south to maybe SE London and Kent for the latter .

I have an affirmative answer ,just had Surrey thunder.

I think we only got 1 clap of thunder here ,so not a lot of drama.

Hope it's nicer tomorrow going to my nephew's wedding in Tonbridge.

We had the single loudest and brightest thunder and lightening in Macclesfield I have heard in the UK on Wednesday night.

Somehow managed to knock out both my routers and also woke both kids up.

Unexpectedly warm on Tues and maybe Weds as ex-hurricane Gert remains drag warm air northwards. High 20s possible in SE. Lots of cloud too though.

UK Metoffice chart for Bank Holiday Sunday:

Disclaimer - it could still all go wrong, plenty of complicated variables in the mix - although unlikely...

Sorry Puggit what does the chart mean? For the south east?

My engagement party depends on your wisdom!
