Nikon AF-S 35mm f1.8 next for my D5100, then a flash gun... Still in love with my Tamron 70-300.

Static car stuff is easy with 18-55mm but anything a decent distance away needs longer.
Would very much like a 300, 600, and a 10mm...

Unless you're spending every weekend at nature reserves, airshows or racetracks taking photos of stuff from huge distances, anything over ~400mm is massive overkill IMO.

I've got a 12-24mm f4, a 50mm f1.8, 100mm f2.8 macro and 28-135mm f3.5/5.6 (all of which get +60% on the 40D). Anything bigger than the 135 I simply hire for the weekend from Calumet - the 400mm f2.8 prime is £75/weekend for example, the 600mm f4 is £85.

I think these were done with a 400 Macro. I'll have to ask my friend next time I see her, as I'd borrowed it.

I've got 9 bales of haylage in my car, and it's pouring down.
I'm never going to get my Peugeot along the grass/mud track to the field.
Damn.

Don't underestimate the power of narrow tyres. My first time driving in snow (heavy snow), my Mazda 323 was the the only normal car in the Tesco car park amongst the JEEPs, Land Rovers, Range Rovers, XC-Volvos and the odd Land Cruiser. Mine wasn't the AWD version either.

yes

Same with Alfa last year, and rover 214 when younger. Plenty of right foot, dabble of handbrake and some narrow and cheap tyres.

Drift king levels of fun, and got me everywhere mums 4x4s would.

Mondeo best not let me down this year :grrrrr:

Not saying you're definitely wrong, but how far away did you take them from? Assuming those are full frame, you'd need to be about 100m away to get that sort of framing. A 100mm macro lens would be more common - you'd still need to be a little way away but not a LONG way.

A long way away. I'll double check, I've probably got it mixed with another. Think I'll see the girl who's lens it is on Monday.

600mm f/4?! That must have a huge aperture.

I haven't used that one. Smaller numbers are wider open though, f4's not especially bright ( bright enough though - and at £7k for a new one...)

Shoes.

What do the collective think?
Black and white or the brown or cream?

Bit Bugsy Malone?

Or brown two tone

Or just plane black brogue?

Boring?

They will be used daily for work so lots of airport walking and driving, so need to be comfortable. I use Clarkes at the mo.

smile

Coming next, which socks should I wear, is this Ebay item a scam and should I do this girl up the pooper?

My 300mm is a minimum of f/5.6...so that means that at double the focal length your aperture must open up to massive levels to give a smaller f-stop.

Black, others look clown like.

If you have a TK Maxx nearby, have a look at the shoes, can get some excellent brogues there for cheap
