Brazil Nuts aren't nuts though, they're seeds. If you have a nut allergy, eating a Brazil nut wont affect you at all, however if there is residue from actual nuts on the Brazils, that's a different matter. Hence the warning.

They're called Brazil nuts because they come from the Brazil Nut tree, which was originally indigenous to Brazil but over the years has spread to surrounding countries.
