I have a pair of very pale blue trousers. I struggle to find anything which 'works' with them. I've tried a plain white shirt but feel it looks a bit washed out.

Could anyone suggest something?

Pastel pink or salmon shirt, linen if you can find one, dark blue loafers, no socks. Get those trousers shortened to ankle. Like a boss.

Yes, yes, yes - although I don't like loafers without socks so would go for moccasins.

Nothing wrong with those trousers but they need shortening and possibly tapering if the shortening leaves them too wide.

Dark blue would look good with them. You could also go black or various other colours depending upon the garment. White is fine but probably better if you're wearing a blazer.

Edited to add: If you're going to wear a top untucked a straight bottom would look better. Maybe a polo or shirt without tails. The one in the photo needs tucking in.

Blazer?!

If you're wearing a blazer you're either still at school or driving a coach.
Or you're wearing a coloured jacket not forming part of a suit.

With the greatest respect, if you don't like a good Blazer, you're really on the wrong thread hehe

Well dressed and blazer should not exist together outside the National Express training school wink

Has anyone here tried thread.com?

A mate liked it on facebook so I had a look. You fill out a few details about yourself and what you normally wear and they give you a style consultant who suggests a few outfits per week in your sizes. If you like anything then you can buy. Free returns if you dont like it.

I've been pretty impressed so far and have put an order in for a few things though it might get a bit samey after a while. Worth a look.

Sky blue and white is fine, nice and summery.

Sky also looks good with denim shades of blue, and great with gunmetals and greys.

The one with grey would look like a prison uniform, the others I'm not keen on at all.

People should stop asking folks here on PH for fashion advice. None of you here have a clue.

Go to the likes of Fashionbeans, GQ, IAMGALLA, run a search on Instagram/Pinterest and other fashion blogs for advice.

Not sure that's the case.

Feel free to contribute if you consider yourself less clueless.

I think the problem with a thread like this is that you end up with a cold dead list curated by a team of odd autists who've read 9000 articles about "looking cool" but never actually done it. It's amusing to read though. Also while we're dropping forum names I'm a fan of sufu and also lookbook to have a roll through smile

That's why I haven't dished out any advice as there are others better qualified than myself smile

What i do know is that the websites I've mentioned is a better place to learn how to dress better whatever your age than PH.
