Paypal have sent me a snotty email about being in breach of their T&Cs for gaming/gambling. So this is either thanks to a dirty grass (hehe) or they autoscan the text field for keywords. Or they're suspicious about lots of £2 payments. I'll be honest, I didn't even know it's against their terms. But, frankly, it's annoying and stupid. Last time I checked, the lottery is perfectly legal and so are syndicates. They claim it's to "protect their brand" - yeah, the lottery which has donated billions to good causes is clearly a terrible thing to be associated with! Absolute tripe.

If people want to do it again for future big ones then I'm sure we'll come up with an alternative. I'm all ears as to what may be the best arrangement - any ideas?

(obviously we still have Friday's to look forward to, though! smile)

Is everyone spending the early evening plotting how to spend their £6.5k or £65k then? smile

This was discussed on the first few pages spud gets it or does what he likes with it. If I recall didn't spud put 50p extra in last week?

Btw those look good numbers to me if 10 comes out as a lucky star were on for some wins!
Yes. And I put £4 extra in the first week!

So we didn't win last night. Are we going to do this again? Contribute £2 each on a regular basis?
I'm not sure the appetite is there for it unless it's a big(ger than normal) jackpot?

Although, having said that, the benefit to large syndicates is the fact we got 3 draws out of it due to rolling over the small winnings - quite a lot of bang for your £2 buck.

I'm quite happy to do it every time it gets above £x million, though. 100? Seems to happen a few times a year.

Seems to be a lot of the 'original' 150 wanting to do it again but I can't help but notice the OP has gone awfully quiet.

Title thread reads:

PH Euro Lottery syndicate one-off: let's do this!
hehe

I'm here! I haven't managed to figure out how to turn failed tickets into winning ones, so I'm afraid I haven't bought a Bond-villain-style island hideaway just yet.

Will keep monitoring the thread (and the jackpot's progression!) for developments. Though if it doesn't reach a big jackpot within the next few draws, I suggest our next involvement is the Christmas draw - if memory serves, they usually do a 20/25 millionaire jackpot for UK ticket holders then. And I'm sure there was an occasion at one point where they did 100 - not sure if it was Christmas, though.

hehe

What we'll do for the next one is post a window for existing members to get signed up (slightly in advance). Then spare slots will be done on first-come, first-served. That way it's all fair smile

Good idea, I'm in the 150 club!
I was thinking of asking about that.

I have Barclays Pingit - could everyone download the app for that and send it to my phone number?

You'd need to include your email address/username in the notes bit, though

I'm open to suggestions.

I realise this whole thing is done on trust anyway, but I'm not sure I want to send my bank details to everyone. Didn't Clarkson once challenge people to misuse his a/c and sort code number and someone set up some charity direct debits, or something?

Not that I think people would do that - but there must be a better way?

Good spot.

Have registered a PH one and put the first 50 emails in.

Just waiting on an email back from their support to see how we can do it only playing for big jackpots - the FAQ references weekly things, as it expects that is what most people are doing.

Once I've got that sorted (if it can be!) I'll add the other 100 emails and it'll give you links to register, etc.

When everyone joins - I suggest you change their account settings or you'll get an email EVERYTIME someone else joins, IE x150!

I missed that so I now know another members real name (but not his PH user name) as well as Spud's real name! Doesn't really matter to me but it might to others?

I couldn't find a way to pay via PP either, guess I'll have to transfer the money to my bank and send it before the wife spends it!
I think I kinda gave mine away with my Paypal email before hehe

Yeah, apologies, hardly been on PH much in the last few days - certainly not at my computer where I've got the excel file, etc

Will get the rest sent out later this afternoon/evening.

Sent another 100 invites. Let me know if they've come through OK.

I'll keep people posted by email/in this thread as to the next big jackpot we'll go in for.

If anyone doesn't take up their invitation to join the syndicate within the next week or so then their place will be offered out to other people who just missed out. Keeps it nice and fair. Hope that's OK smile

If you haven't got one and you think you should can you message me telling me what email your Paypal account uses and I'll search for it in the Excel document I exported from people who paid last time. Might have just cropped the Excel document at the wrong point or something.

Got Ofsted in tomorrow and Thursday. Just finished plans - suitably cream crackered. Going to struggle to look at this until close to the weekend. Will answer emails and queries then.

With re: to the syndicate website - we don't have to use it. I hadn't heard of it until it was mentioned in this thread. But Paypal threw a hissy fit and ideally I don't want to be emailing out bank details. So other suggestions are always welcome. Though if we just fund it through the syndicate website and buy the tickets separately (not through them) and just paste images like I have been doing that eliminates concern about ownership of tickets, etc.

Feel free to keep discussing until we come to some sort of agreement or consensus.

Right, I'm here! Will work back through these replies and my emails. Yes, Ofsted have left. And yes, the school is out of special measures - thanks in no small part to the turnaround in English results biglaughread

I exported all original emails from Paypal payments to Excel then put them in chunks of 50 into the email notification section of the syndicate site - it won't take more than 50 at once. If you've not received an email please check that you actually monitor your Paypal email (and don't use a different one for normal email, e.g. if it's an old account) and that it didn't go to your spam/trash.
