Although not hot, it's been quite nice in Berkshire

Afraid we're heading in to a sustained cool and unsettled spell. The NW will bear the brunt, with the SE clinging on to the occasional chance of average temps.
Too early to tell maybe but any idea likely conditions for next Sunday in the Milton Keynes area? I'm doing a half ironman and hoping it doesn't rain. Can handle heat or it being cool but if it is likely to rain I may swap my tyres.
Difficult to tell this far out. Right now it's looking like low pressure to the north, high pressure over France. 18oC or so. Some rain around, but nothing heavy.

You'll need to keep checking, as the current charts won't be accurate on rainfall.

Charts are still showing a band of rain passing from the South on Sunday, through the day. High pressure follows on behind (briefly).

There's a low risk of light rain now, but charts aren't showing anything 'organised'. I would plan for dry - but check again!

Temps around 18oC. Probably as good as it gets in terms of not hindering you!

Afraid as a general outlook, the horror show continues in to next week.

Better chances of 20oC in the South with a weak ridge of high pressure, but the North continues to be miserable. Second half of next week could be particularly miserable in the N/NW.

Some signs of improvement. Nothing permanent or amazing but a high pressure ridge looks like it will deliver low 20s, with the south particularly benefitting.

A relatively good week for the South, but low pressure never too far away off the NW coast. Sadly for Silverstone it looks like that low pressure will come in closer for the weekend. Things can change though.

Some promising signs for the the second half of July - but it would be just as easy for low pressure to keep hanging around!

Saturday is looking great!

Actually - this low pressure will suck up some pretty warm air (and humidity) from the continent...

Some positive signs for the 2nd half of July for some proper summer, but a long, long way from being certain! Met Office are also talking about a change in the weather...

Next week looks pretty rubbish - and then there are signs of the first proper heat arriving towards the end of the week. Watch this space...

The week ahead continues to look less than desirable, especially for the north. Charts are still showing big things for next weekend, so the odds of it happening are rising...

Unusual heat about to arrive in England party

The models had a waver yesterday, so I'm glad I didn't post. Warmest and most settled spell yet appears to be on the way. I'm afraid the North and Scotland may not benefit.

Humidity and thunder on the cards too.

Thanks! So it's getting hot then!
It's getting hot - briefly!

Pleasant in the South and East for the weekend. Then a general warm up for almost entire UK. Could well see 30oC on Tuesday (of course I have a business trip to Manchester). The heat could trigger widespread thunder, generally in the north.

Weds sees a very early break down. More to come on that, but there's potential for most widespread and severe thunder so far this year. Remains pleasant enough in the South later in the week.

Sainsburys are selling off Nerf Supersoakers called FreezeFire that you can load ice cubes in.

£5....

You really don't mind getting hit on a day like this.

If like to know this too. BBC weather app seems very inaccurate and Beeb ( met off) missed this mini heatwave
I've seen plenty of evidence that the BBC forecast this heat wave from before the weekend confused
