And maltesers? How are they made?

The honeycomb thing just passed through a flow of melted choc?

I'm just guessing
But how are they cooled...they're perfectly round...
In a carefully directed stream of air.. You can emulate the cooling process by pursing your lips, tilting your head back, balancing a malteser on your lips and blowing... You'll notice that it hovers in the column of air..

Maltesers are coated with chocolate and then put in a washing machine type thing which blows cold air onto them to make them set as they trundle around.

In the good old days, police and emergencys ervices when stopped on the hard shoulder used to point their front wheels away from the traffic, so if they get hit from behind, the vehicle travelled away from the carriageway

Now, they stop with the whole car facing the carraigeway. Why?
IIRC it depends on which side someone is getting out of the vehicle. If its the driver getting out, then the drivers side will be furthest away from oncoming traffic (ie. pointing to the left)

You have an artic & trailer. The trailer has a large number of pigeons inside. Is it lighter when all the pigeons are standing on the floor of the trailer or when they are all flying around inside? (if you can get them all in the air at the same time.)

Also angled side on the vehicle provides a larger profile making it easier to see and quickly recognise as being out with the norm, so you others should be more likely to react to it.

And any hi-vis stripes or checks on the side are more visible.

Tells blind and deaf people when it's safe to cross.

No but then he's not really insulting on here, more clinically factual.

I reckon that it will make very little difference because they need to create lift to fly, so surely this would mean equal to or more than their weight being forced downwards through the air????

(just a complete guess though)

Surely if they are all flying then it would be lighter than them all sat on the floor.

Think about when you jump in a lift, for the split second you are in midair the lift would be lighter

yes But did you know that those crossings with the red/green men on your side, ie on the box on which you press the button, are called Puffin crossings, not Pelican.

If you drop a kitten, it lands on its feet.

If you drop buttered toast, it lands buttered side down.

So if you put butter on a kitten's feet, then drop it, why doesn't it hover?
