How many people are unemployed in the UK at the moment?

Let's hope there's a swap for someone that's currently employed (Luft) for someone that's currently unemployed pretty fking sharpish.
No way! He'll be here all day, every day then!

Four months for a collapsed lung in 2003. Two months in 2009 for the same.

Hmm, this guy cannot be serious. No-one would be so soft as to take over a weeks sick leave for a minor burn.

Gotta be a troll.

As some of you are being jolly unfair to Luftwaffe, I have commissioned an artist's impression of his suffering just so that you can all go back and think about how beastly you're being.

Its a powerful image and I'd suggest that you don't have any children around as you scroll down.

There, not as trivial as it first appears is it?

Longest I was off for was two and a half weeks when I caught Chicken Pox, not fun as an adult I can assure you!
Yes, had that when I was 20 back in 2005. It was the result of being at my niece's birthday party - one of her friends had it.

It was probably the most annoying pain I've ever had, used to spend ages in the bath just soothing myself.

What also made it worse was my gran passed away soon afterwards, and I had been keeping clear of her around that time. Used to try and see her every week or two but at that time probably hadn't seen her for 6 weeks.

My longest time off work was 2.5 weeks when I ended up in hospital with an unknown pain. Put on a drip, kept in for 7 days and allowed myself a week afterwards to recover, I think I lost about 1.5 stones not eating right.

Two weeks (10 working days) when I had my gall bladder out. I wanted to go back earlier, but was told no.

Previous to that 8 working days due to stress (doctors orders)

What a twunt.

Agreed.

Fell off a floating platform into about 3' of water. Caught arm in the rope that was anchoring the platform to the sea bed. Hit head on sea bed. Passed out. Dislocated left shoulder, ruptured rotator cuff nerve, drowned.
Was rescued by a friend who was an off duty lifeguard, and had my shoulder put back in to joint by another friend, who was training to be a physiotherapist. with no anaesthetic, just Amstel.
Just recovering from the surgery now. They have attempted to de-congest the damaged nerve, but it doesn't look like it will have worked. Will be off work for 2 weeks and in a sling for 6
I have to have it in a sling, because I can't move it or support the weight of my arm without the shoulder pulling itself out of joint again. Luckily I have got a sunroof, cos I've got a 'vert, but I won't be able to drive it for the foreseeable, as the op was on my left arm, so no changing gear.
PH and youporn will see me through though!

Weirdly I had it in 2005 as well, the first few days before the spots broke out is still the most unwell I've ever been, raging temperature and found it really had to breathe at times, one night my parents had to call the doctor out as I was breathing similar to someone having an asthma attack, was really scary! Once the spots broke out it wasn't too bad after that.

The longest i've ever had off is 1 day. I don't tend to get ill and when I do it's nothing I can't just work through. There are some people I've worked with who treat sickness as extra holiday, knowing they can have 5 days self certified and a maximum of 10 days off a year before any action is taken and there are lots who at the slightest sign of a sniffle take a day off.
