Been looking for some dark brown or black shoes to wear with navy blue work suits. Tried a few different options from Barker, Loake and Cheaney but can't seem to get away from Loake Aldwych for good value work shoes. So added a black pair to the (Aldwych) collection. smile

Very nice selection.

I'm noticing that I much prefer plain cap-toe shoes and boots to brogues at the moment.

EDIT: I tend to always be wearing one of these 3 pairs;

Church Lanark

Crocket & Jones Bradford

Tricker's Cap toe boot

They're very much a half way house between the JW you might wear and those the vast majority most definitely wouldn't.
I have a couple of pairs and like the more restrained ones, but wouldn't entertain those.

While better in some ways than some of the well made but somewhat advanced middle aged stuff posted here, trying a decent slug too hard.

I was in a busy modern work environment this week for a few days. I noticed quite a few blokes (I would guess at early twenties to late) favoured no socks, and were wearing some sort of plimsolls typed footwear.

Millenials rolleyes
They will wake up one day once someone smashes their sense of entitlement and they realise they have to be a grown up in the big bad world hehe

It didn't go with the weird short tight trousers. Not for me anyway, an older bloke, older than me mentioned it, or someone did. and a chat on whether socks should be worn was had. biggrin

About the time they have the real responsibility, discover there is more to being an 'entrepreneur' than just giving oneself the title on linkedin, and are having to tolerate the utter cow dung being spoken about the next cleverly mass media named generation after them, which will be doing that generation's equivalent of pokimon chasing.

I seem to recall similar nonsense being spoken about 'baby boomers'. Even as one I found it bloody annoying and condescending towards 'older' people.

Just got a couple of bargains from TK Maxx online,

Some casual Tom trainers/pumps, only £16 in the clearance, these will just be for beach/pub in summer.

and some Toms Twill Brogues, however I don’t know what I would wear them with, are they smart - with socks/chinos/shirt or casual with no socks, shorts and a polo? anyway, at only £24 I couldn’t say no!

I quite like the pink ones in the right environment and on the right person.

The second ones are not brogues.

Just picked up both sets of toms and the multi colour ones are more red/blue in the flesh, not pink
