Thanks for posting the pics. Fascinating.
There is a YouTube vid of Nepalis making a kukri that was very good too. Starts with an old bit of leaf spring.

I was looking for this thread the other day.
The only knife I really use regularly is my Leatherman Skeletool CX. I noticed the other day that it had lost the spare hex bit, couldn't find it anywhere. So I went online, ordered a replacement. While I was there, I figured I'd buy a new clip so I could actually carry it (took it off years ago, since lost).
Leatherman don't do replacement clips. Arse.
So I had a search elsewhere and found there's quite an active Leatherman modding scene. Arse.
There's a replacement 3D printed steel clip you can get for only about twice the price of a regular clip. So that's now ordered. As is the additional 3D printed steel hammer/pry bar head insert.
Available on Shapeways for more than the original cost of the knife if anyone is interested. Shapeways don't fall over themselves to rush stuff out the door, so I should have some pics at the end of the month.

Just found this thread great to read.
I've had a Benchmade Bugout 535 for some time now and swear by it. It's very lightweight and sturdy.
Is there much love for the old Sinclair Cardsharp on here? I had one in my wallet for years and was required as a witness in a complex and serious case at Woolwich Crown Court a couple of years ago. The first day there I emptied my pockets into the x-ray scanner and walked through the metal detector arch when 3 security guards leapt up and over to the x-ray scanner to look in my wallet. Like an idiot, I'd completely forgot about the bloody knife card tucked away in there so had to bin it there and then.

Top to bottom:
- Benchmade Nimravus (~14 years old)
- Victorinox Adventurer (~24 years old) with the slide lock removed to make it legal for carrying in public in the UK
- Benchmade Mini-Barrage with Axis lock and assisted open (2 years old)
This topic caught my eye because over the past few weeks, I've been looking at EDC options for upgrading from the Victorinox. Finally settled on the LionSteel Thrill.
And seeing as how I was paying for delivery anyway, I figured I might as well chuck a Benchmade 940 Osborne in the basket.

This was forged by the great Tai Goo. He named it the "Switching Yard Shiv", as it was forged from a railroad spike.
That is quite stunning A couple of nice little multi tools from Mrs Bobbers for Christmas, I normally have a full-sized Gerber Suspension in my drawer at work but they have banned all fixed/lock blade tools on site, the Gerber Armbar is small enough to go unnoticed.
The Victorinox Nailclip 580 will be a great little addition to our travel stuff, it's tiny but has everything you really need for simple travel manicure!!
