I had a Magnanni delivery this morning. Both shoes fit perfectly and I would happily wear either - though the pointy ones are a little less versatile.

Now I need to decide which pair.
I must say the finish and detail is the equal of any shoe I've handled.

As soon as I had seen the post with all three finishes, it confirmed what I had suspected; it's the lovely patina of the mid brown/dark tan that I especially liked.

By the "pointy ones", I take it that's the pair you mean?
I agree the colouring would make it less versatile, but that patina is perfectly enhanced by the fact of it's being a monkstrap.
Perfect IMO, and worth the lack of versatility in favour of the superior finish.

It's the lighter coloured one I prefer. It fits perfectly and as you say I love the patina; it's almost like antique luggage.

I will keep that one and, I think, return the dark ones but buy a pair of derbies or oxfords in that dark colour. Possibly the Canali ones I posted a couple of pages ago.

It's a rug. We don't have many carpets.

I just bought a pair of these wolverine 1000mile boots in tan. Got about 30% off.

They have a leather sole so may put a topper on them. Rather than having to resole every few months/years.

really really bad photo (Laptop webcam) they are actually a dark brown with the commando sole bit stiff at the moment and maybe the left is a tiny bit too small but im not paying full price for them!

Bought these Justin Reece boots yesterday at the NEC Classic Car Show (of all places..), beautifully made and a decent price too.
I like them. Presumably one doesn't have to wait for an annual motoring event to be able to buy them?
Nope, there is a website.... https://www.justinreece.co.uk

I paid £85 for those boots which I thought was pretty good
I bought these:

Thanks.

Ordered these instead. 40 quid.

which arrived during my absence overseas this week.

I've just opened them and have to say I'm impressed. They were beautifully packaged and look well made. Comfortable straight away and look smart. I'd certainly recommend tham and at £40 they seem extraordinary value.
I've had a few pairs of Justin Reece, they don't last long at all. But, they are comfortable and relatively cheap.

I would love to see the outfit that goes with those!

I have a number of outfits those shoes will go with. They even look good with jeans (though not those jeans turned up, that was done for photographic purposes).

That's a Tricker's Stow boot, in espresso brown calf. RRP about £390.

Great boot.

Dare I ask ?
£202 I think usually they're around £290

I found them here,

https://www.thepriorymenswear.co.uk/products/wolve...

Free postage and next day delivery.

They come in a range of colours

Wolverine are a US manufacturer but their boots can be found in quite a few UK online retailers.

Those look very nice, what's the name of the one you have on your right foot please?
I'm a sucker for pointy shoes, and it's time I branched out from Jeffrey West smile
