Nighttime must be a pretty unsafe time on that ward!
Its the cardic ward where they do day cases only so its not 'open' at night, if you are staying in then you get shipped off somewhere else. I tried not to snigger too much when she introduced herself to me last week, given her and the team were charged with making sure I didn't kick the bucket after the surgeon had a tinker about with my heart! In Wycombe Hospital there's a cardiac ward four floors up from reception. If you're still alive when you get there, they send you up another floor to cardiac rehabilitation! Okay there's a lift or two, but these are germ incubators. You're trapped in it as it trundles its way up and down alongside trolleys loaded with unknown clinical items and with coughing and spluttering sick people! The stairs always seem the better choice to me.
