Premade coils are just crud. Make your own at the same resistance and you'll find you get a much nicer vape, usually this is because you can use thicker wire with more surface area

Can't be arsed in the same way I didn't roll my own cigs.

I get adequate vapour with my set up

So what's the crack with sub ohm vaping then. Got a joytech evic mini running 0.2ohm and not seeing the fuss. Prefer my istick and aspire running at 1.6ohm. What am I doing wrong.should I be running pure vg. What sort of wattage should I be running. Much above 20w is a bit warm.
Same here. I've tried the sub ohm lark with an Atlantis and iStick 50w and can't see what the fuss is about. Get just as much vape and loads more flavour with my 20w iStick and a bog standard Nautilus. Tried all the pure VG stuff as well. Made no difference.
I dunno, I'm using a 30w iStick and Nautilus mini and I'm quite disappointed with the amount of vapour and flavour that's produced.

I like the idea of these. Only issue I have is that the tank is plastic so likely to crack pretty easily.

I was put off by the plastic tank and no adjustable air flow.

If it's 0.2 it's likely one of the temperature sensing coils - if it doesn't auto sense what type of coil (titanium? check the packaging as it'll tell you you the coil type) you'll have to configure the device for that coil type, then adjust temperature to suit. Raising the watts just hits temp quicker - leave at 20w and start about 350f, work up the temp until you find a comfortable vape; then up the watts to see if it gets any better/worse - the temp will remain the same.

A little advice needed from those in the know.

I am gong to get a new set of kit, I think my current battery is giving up the ghost, it heats up during recharging and doesn't hold it's charge that long and my coils seem to be lasting 4 days before burning out (or at least being harder to pull, changing the liquid a darker colour and giving off a burn taste.

Using a curve or I stick with an aspire mini nautilus, love the aspire kit but would like to try the new tanks and specifically, the new wick burners. Currently very much enjoying Avant Garde heavenly vanilla custard but have heard it is hard on coils and Is high VG.

Not fussed about price if it is good kit, like Aspire and the added safety of the scratch plates to confirm that it is official.

What am I best looking at?

Thanks in advance.

The istick and aspire mini nautilus is pretty much the go to kit for a new vaper. If you want to play around with new kit the best thing to do is check out Youtube reviews.

Aspire do a bit of an allrounder tank called the Triton. If you vape mouth to lung then you can pop in a 1.8ohm coil, reduce the airflow and vape like the Nautilus. It has top filling so you don't have to remove it from the mod to fill on the go. If you wan to lung hit, put in the lower ohm coil with a suitable mod, open up the airflow and direct lung inhale. Here is a review, ignore the RTA bit amd just use the pre-made coils

I warn you it is a big tank, here is it next to a Kanger subtank mini

Istick 50w and Atlantis 2 tank. Been using .5 coils for months and just got some .3's. The juice tastes horrible on them, the tank gets boiling hot within 4 or 5 drags and its producing very little vapour (comparatively).

Think I might have some fake coils, or is this something others have had?

Eta - battery has pretty much drained from full since last night!! Usually get 3 days out of it!

They should have the scratch 'n' sniff patch on them to check online if they're fake

Are you aware of the issues with the iStick 50W? Draining overnight would worry me a bit as there are multiple instances of them autofiring and setting themselves on fire a little bit

I wasn't aware of issues, but as long as its only on fire a little bit... biggrin

Just thought it was odd that the two outside seem to be related as the battery thing has only started with the new coils

Bought a selection from LSC (ten I hadn't tried before), but having an odd experience...

Loads of smell from the bottle, fresh ni200 occ coil, loads of vapour - but virtually no flavour coming through. Never had that one before!

Have loaded up the Duke - probably the best option of the ones I have to kill vaper's tongue. Don't think it's that though.

Boiler Watter is probably a better choice.

Currently got a 0.5ohm coil in the Subox running at 27W, thick dense vapour. Good flavour on Chill Ski but my new fav is Gunpowder, just ordered another 50ml.

Worth having alittle read and taking some safety precautions (No overnight charging, leave it on ceramic plate or similar so that it doesn't ruin whatever it's sat on)

Cheers bud. I've put some .5's in now and the issues seem to have sorted themselves out, so I think the lower ohm coils might be responsible. Can't say I've had issues with it firing itself, but will definitely keep my eyes out on it.

The istick fire issue looks a slight concern as it appears to be far from an isolated incident.

Does anyone take any precautions charging their ecigs? I have to admit to whacking it on a USB charger overnight most nights and wonder if this is perhaps a bit dangerous....

I only ever charge my batteries where I can keep an eye on them. I sit by a PC all day so plug in and unplug once charged, I would never let them sit overnight. They should have overcharge protection but maybe I am just over cautious.

I don't really have that option. Overnight is really the only time I am in the same place for a prolonged period of time. I might invest in one of these battery charger bags and cross fingers (and sleep less easily!).

Or maybe buy a timer for the plug so it is not on all night
