Just sent 3 new invites to people who used old emails, so that should allow them to join.

I propose another couple of days for people to take up their places before we delete their invites - it's been 6 days. Having said that, there are 74 places currently available, so even if we deleted their invite and they suddenly realised they could still always request another along with people waiting to enter.

As stated many times, if you have a better solution, I'm all ears. It needs to be:

- cost minimal
- easy to administer
- allowing of 'gambling'

I think everyone's panicking just a little too soon. I'm still happy to go with whatever the consensus is - if people are worried about the site then we won't use it. Just request your funds back (note: I've never asked anyone to deposit any!) and keep an eye on your CC. If you used a CC anyway, you'd get monies back quickly without any issue.

OtherBusiness said:
Having suggested that site and now looked in more detail yes it could be a bit suspect. I was imagining just using it for the member management but buying the tickets manually. Anyway, I do use http://www.groupspaces.com through work to manage a group of circa 300 people. Its not free but it is good and you can set it up to take PayPal payments which would probably be better? Well it is free for just 50 users but thats no good as there is 150 of us; the next one up allows 200 users but is £4.99 a month. http://groupspaces.com/pricing has the pricing details. Might be an option though? Obviously no one knows me from Adam but I'd be happy to setup a group under my account/manage the group and Spud can also have access to the group management and the PayPal bit?
Is there anything to prevent us, notionally, splitting into 3 separate groups?

Like I say, keep the discussion going until we reach a decision.

Just hang fire. I imagine there will be some press about Christmas/New Years/another special draw of some sort - there usually is. We'll be in on it when there is smile

Yeah, little point going for the small ones with the numbers we have involved. Surprised there's not been any news about a Christmas/New Year superdraw yet. But whenever the next one is we'll be in there smile

Thread revival. Anyone up for a quick blast on Friday? Capped at 70 this time because that's the jackpot in millions.

I know there's the syndicate thread that's currently in the lounge, but this is just one one off big jackpots as explained the first time we did it.

Let me know whether there's sufficient interest again and I'll organise if necessary.

Quick repeat for the hard of hearing at the back: this is a one off that's only done for big jackpots and not as a weekly thing.

That didn't take long to find a few of you hehe

Gretchen, the balance of the group on Syndicate tool is zero, so any funds you've deposited remain attached to your individual username, if that makes sense.

The issue is: do we use Syndicate tool or do it manually?

If we use ST we need to ensure people can access who weren't on and not to include people who don't want to do it this time (should be fairly simple, assuming no technical issues).

Or manual transfer (Paypal got snotty with me last time, I seem to remember - despite the fact they can be used to deposit into gambling firms!) is also an option.

Will the transfers be instant/within two hours under those faster payment guidelines? We must have someone who works in finance amongst us?

I have accounts with Nationwide and Santander that could take bank transfer payments if people would like to avoid Syndicate Tool.

Anyone got any idea about this? If not, we'll go through ST

Right, it seems we'd have to delete originals off and do invites for new ones etc. on ST and it will get rather messy. Here's the best/simplest solution, I think. I'll start a list below which goes from 1-72.

- Fill in a slot for yourself and an ACTIVE email next to it (feel free to mask it, I'll re-type them).
- Don't fill it in for anyone else. They need to agree to it.
- Previous terms regarding winnings still apply, e.g minor prizes will be re-invested. It's not worth me sending 50p back out to everyone!
- Signing up does not guarantee membership, only payment of funds does that in conjunction with signing up
- Once we have 72 on the list it will close automatically (don't add or try and edit it!) and I'll email the first 72 my transfer details
- Ensure your bank transfer contains your PH username which must MATCH what you signed up for in this thread
- I'll post proof of purchases, as per last time, when I've sorted it all
- If we don't fill in the 72 I'll cut it off some time late ish tomorrow in plenty of time for you to send your funds
- The cost, of course, is £2 each.
- If you miss the payment deadline of 1pm Friday then you forfeit your space - I need time to buy the tickets. The number of tickets would reduce accordingly. Plus I need to see how much has actually been paid and get the right number of tickets.
- Anyone doubting my integrity this time can bugger off hehe - hope I've covered everything. But please take this in the PH spirit it is intended!

Also, what's happening with the money in the old syndicate account? Are we using it?
Please see a page or two back - not using ST due to time/logistics of adding/removing people who may not be in this one - plus, I don't know if it would separate them properly between participants and non-.

I'm in (original member) I think I need to deposit £2 by lunchtime yes? Better get onto it pronto.
Not without being on the list! As explained, due to complications regarding adding/taking people off, we're just working from this list.

Current list. Anyone else not following the instructions runs the risk of being cut off. If you don't fill in the list properly it's a pain in the backside for me and you haven't followed the rules outlined. Worse than the kids hehe

Funds in Syndicate Tool aren't necessary. You'll send me a £2 bank transfer if you want to take part, as per the rules.

I will email you the details once we're full / close to running out of time. That's why you're leaving your email address here! This is all explained in the post a couple of pages back wink

Wasn't the syndicate tool set up with money already deposited to make this easier for when the next big one came around? We had all agreed to that hadn't we? Anyone on that original list who misses this thread is going to be mightily pissed off if they were to miss out on a big win.
So what would you have me do when there are a large number of people registered on the ST list who won't see the recent activity?

And what about those people who are registered on the list, therefore part of the previous syndicate, who then don't pay in the £2. What happens when 30 out of 75 pay it and the others don't and there's a win. People part of a syndicate in terms of the list but not having paid into it.

As you can see, there are too many issues. Therefore the new list was done

And no, there was no agreement to this, it was merely suggested by a member after the fact. I'd never even heard of Syndicate Tool until they posted it. The original rules agreed to for that first draw were in the first post. It mentions nothing about future use and no new agreement was made. Hence doing a new one - we're just using the same thread so that people who did it before can see it appear active again in their 'my posts' areas and see if they want to become involved
