It doesnt automatically sync with strava, you can however export the .gpx file of the work out and load it manually into strava.

b2cloud.com says you can use Tapiriik? what ever that is to sync automatically.

and is it compatible with Strava?
Can't comment on this, but Fitbit's own app offers Strava-like functionality of plotting your GPS route on a map, calculating distance travelled and calories burned, etc.

Interesting, I'm getting a fitbit flex free with my new phone. If its any use I'll be looking at the charge as the missus had already 'hinted' that she wants the flex...

Yup its in store. John Lewis have sock again. So if your local Sainsbury's still has stock John Lewis will price match and you get the 5 year warranty. I returned mine and did this no issues biggrin

I had a fitbit ??? previously it was disappointing as all the foods on the english app where american so you couldn't easily add what you'd eaten. Have they sorted this out now with an actual UK food database?

I have a Fitbit Flex but have been using myfitnesspal.com for years and didn't want to move over to Fitbit's app. It turns out that they integrate really well and you can link your Fitbit account to your myfitnesspal.com

The Fitbit pushes excercise data to myfitnesspal which then uses it to calculate your calorie goal. I don't bother recording food data on the Fitbit app.

Turned up. Postie was grunting as it did weigh a ton

Now weighs even more. Still need to do a bit more organisation.

Looks good!
I can see a place for that in my lounge too for holding my 'man stuff'

Sort of.

You can add your own foods, all its cal, sat. fats etc, and the app has a barcode scanner.

As said previously, just use MyFitnessPal, much better UK db. I have had my Charge HR for about a month now and it is a great little device. I put mine on charge every morning for 10 minutes whilst in the shower and it lasts fine without getting too low. Don't panic when you get the low battery warning, it will comfortably last for another 24hrs before switching off smile

I also have the Fitbit Aria scale, and that is a very smart piece of kit smile

Just had this appear on my fb, yes I know it's Amazon.com not uk, but it would be a handy thing in a well stocked garage.

Waiting for a member dividend from REI in march, and a 20% discount at the same time, should be able to get one for essentially free.

It's a US store.

https://www.rei.com/membership/benefits

You sign up as a member, get an annual 10% refund on purchases, which they tend to send to you along with a 20% off one item coupon. I'm hoping it doesn't exclude fitbit products (if it does, no matter, I'll still use the refund on it).

I don't think you'll have an issue signing up, but I think the shipping would make it not worth it in the UK.

Latest from me...

No need for it what so ever. I've already got a watch.

At risk of invalidating the frivolity though, the sleep tracking and sonos control possibilities will be useful.

Nice, been looking at these lately, let us know how you get on.
So I have been using the Fitbit for almost a week now. I find it very useful. the companion app is superb, to get the most out of it you need to use this too. I use it to keep track of my calories and the amount of water I have drunk in a day. The heart rate system seem pretty consistant with my Garmin chest strap. And the caller ID display is a nice touch.

It has a target system built in where you can set goals and targets, it will tell you when you have reached daily goals.

Battery life is decent, Fitbit say it will last 5 days of normal use with 1hour of activity a day. I have been doing 1hour and half of activity a day and need to charge it every 3-days so far. Charging is quick 1-2 hours to fully charge.

The only major issue I have with it is when I'm cycling. Fitbit doesnt recognise the difference between running and cycling, so you end up having over "50,000 steps" and 40 flights of stairs. Which is pretty frustrating. You cannot connect to strava or garmin at the moment. Fitbit have said they want to combine this eventually though. Their is a current Beta out for transfering runs from Garmin to Fitbit but no cycling yet.
