Next time I'll wear stripey socks! thumbup

There's a bit of 'bunching' of the leather on the left shoe which may prove to be an issue.

I'll get a photo up at some point, I'd be interested to see what you guys make of it. I may very well decide to take them back which will be a shame.

They look nice. smile

Cheaney are good quality IME. I have 3 pairs ranging from 8.5 to 9 which is about right (I vary between those sizes depending on the cut of the shoe).

How do you clean the leather without getting wax all over the tweed?

You will when they send it to the dry cleaners, along with your tweed suit.

I must admit I couldn't wear second hand shoes, however nice: I'd take a pair of new, Wynsor shoes finest over a pair of second hand Lobb's if I'm honest. Wearing them just seems too icky to me, don't know how anyone else feels.

I have bought a few pairs off eBay.

Generally barely worn and at a deep discount.

I've got a pair of those in the darker colour combo. Mine are a comfortable 9.5 whereas I'm normally a 10.

I have some Cheaney Tweed C boots (Tan grain on commando)

Pretty well made and nice soft flexible leather - much softer out of the box than Tricker's calf. The fit is good but there is a little too much volume around the inner arch for my foot. Doesn't ruin the comfort.

As with most country shoes/boots, the advice is to go down half a size from your normal oxfords. They are designed to be worn with thick socks,

Did any of you attended the London Supertrunk show yesterday? There are some really nice shoes on display to try on and to buy.

I like a few of the JW designs, but it would appear that I'm neither young enough, nor old enough to wear them.

It does seem rather a shame to wear them outdoors and ruin those soles.
