'Fee Earner' as a job title!
I have just received a letter from the solicitor that is doing my conveyancing. The letter says,
"XXXX will be your initial point of contact. Later your file will be assigned to a specific fee earner who will handle your file on a day to day basis."
What the f
k is a fking 'fee earner'? I was expecting a solicitor or licensed conveyancer to be handling my file, but from their description it could even be a hooker!

Low start price, to attract bidders, and a reasonable BIN.
Some nobber always places a bid at the start price. No more, because the next bidder becomes the highest with only a tiny increment.
All that first bidder is doing is removing the BIN option for anyone else. They aren't bidding seriously, just hoping, for some deluded reason that they'll get something worth £10s or £100s for 99p.

I've got 2 very smart umbrellas to get rid of and this is not helping.

Putting in contact lenses - Most mornings, they go in fine, but this morning, it didn't matter how much I rinsed them, how much I tried to wipe off that imaginary shard of glass that was tearing my eyes to shreds, how much I pleased or begged, how much bad language I used - I just couldn't get them in.
I binned that one out of sheer frustration, bent down to get one from the cupboard and blatted my head against the handbasin, standing up and twisting and banging my leg against the sharp edge of the bath (there's no bath panel on it at the moment) and let forth a muted torrent of bad language and foul mouthery that which Alice Cooper himself would be ashamed to hear. (except all I did was mmmm, mph, etc as my 5 year old was wondering what Daddy was doing in the bathroom and I didn't want her to learn "Daddy's special words"
