Dicky, this 'getting things out from under cupboards' business chap - if I may make a suggestion, would it not help if the cupboard in question were to be raised from the ground to facilitate removal of said 'thing'?
I've no doubt V6 could offer some practical advice on the lifting front if you think it may be a way forward with future retrievals.
It's okay, I resigned the moment I woke up and can now pursue a career in junk. Thanks all the same.I've no doubt V6 could offer some practical advice on the lifting front if you think it may be a way forward with future retrievals.

I see, I thought that was the case. There's stacks of junk behind the Rectory, will your new venture be following any particular junk discipline?
I'm going for cosy patinated. For example a brass tea caddy from the British Empire Exhibition could sit happily in the shop alongside a Ferguson TE20 tractor as long as neither had been restored. DickyC said:

Any junk lifting needed just let me know, removal of under-junk items a speciality. Also the added bonus of improving the length of views from the house unless you opt for selective demolition instead of creeping barrage.
The first thing that needs shifting is the Aveling Traction Engine & the Shepherd's hut. If we can sling those out of the way we'll be able to see what we're up against.V6Pushfit said:

No, I've resigned. The "calling for the stick when the stick wasn't required" episode was enough to bring the Guild into disrepute. And to be honest the Guild hasn't been the same since the amalgamation with the Honourable Order of Under Cupboard Recovery Operatives. I'm not unhappy with my choice, being in an essentially grimy job while having to be impeccably dressed was always a strain. All that gilt. And guilt, too! Millions starving in the world and me poking about under cupboards in grand houses for a healthy salary with promotion prospects. No, junk shop it is. I'll take Bomma's suggestion and start in the village. Whether they will want to buy one another's junk is another matter but time will tell. I suspect they will. Just a feeling.DickyC said:
Did I mention that I saw an A-frame derrick crane in a junk yard? It was only a day or so after I mentioned such a thing in here. I was so startled by the coincidence I forgot to stop and take a picture.
My Oppo bought one of those and took the gearbox out of one of these with it in May. If you have any T34's in the way I'll bring him along he's a dab hand now.Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
