I think I'd describe him as an idiot tbh. Just part of this fad of risking your life/horrible injuries to show off/get coverage. If that or the pirahana one had gone wrong he'd have been killed/horribly injured. Didn't Steve Irwin's death teach these idiots anything?

I only know this because I saw the video a few days ago with background info. I'm not a Bronski Beat fan (in fact, I'd totally forgotten Somerville was in that band). Apparently, the video was not entirely coincidental as the people videoing it run some blog.

First thing that sprung to mind is it's a setup, hoping to use the internet and go viral, followed quickly by an attempted Somerville comeback.

...or it's known that Somerville walks his dog in that area, around that time, so got some German guy to sing Smalltown Boy and videoed him until Somerville happened to walk past.

So cynical. Next you'll be telling me that Father Christmas doesn't exist. (Which is false because I've seen him in his grottos.)
