Basically I wear them everyday for work and now have more than a bit of an addiction to them.

As with most threads can people post up pictures of cufflinks they have, as it's Friday and I'm bored at work and want to see interesting ones that others wear.

Sometimes, not always. Current favourite are a pair of stripey Paul Smith items.

As an aside, my OH is not allowed to buy me cufflinks - every previous girlfriend that has bought me some, we've ended the relationship a few weeks later. It's a death-knell for me! hehe

I have some Paul Smith ones too, I'm always wondering to myself which cuff the Paul should be on, should it be Paul on the right cuff and Smith on the left so others can read it or the other way around so I can read it?

Confused........

I love cufflinks and have quite a large collection, watches also; there seems to be a link with these things for me. Cufflinks, a very nice suit and shirt, with a good tie works for me...oh and of course the watch!

Anyway back on topic….

I have several Paul Smith pairs and I love Dunhill cufflinks.

Can't give a precise answer on the Paul / Smith left or right answer.....I'm a little embarrassed to say it has also crossed my mind as I have a pair with the name on, which cufflink should be in which cuff.

I sometimes do, especially if meeting clients etc.
My favorites are a pair of Tiffany as a present from my wife.

I used to wear them, but couldn't afford the running costs of wearing them out on the kerb.

Yes.

I think shirts look cheap without them.

I wear cufflinks every working day - my grandfather's. They're plain, rectangular gold ones made my Mappin & Webb in 1935. smile

I wear my grandfather's cufflinks to work every day. They are an art deco pair of octagons with a turned finish from the 30s in 18ct gold.

Generally just more formal occasions. The off the peg shirts I like tend to have button cuffs, I'd wear cufflinks more if a double cuff was more common.

My favourite are some dunhill horse ones that I bought for ascot.

Only ever wear double cuff shirts; I have loads of cufflinks, including some beautiful ones commissioned by my ex-wife, but tend to stick to 5 pairs for daily use. Four of them are just silver inset with coloured stones (chosen to go with whatever shirt/tie I've got on) but the ones I wear most, and which always receive favourable comments from ladies, are some chromed steel taps I got from M&S about 10 years ago. Cheap, and I normally hate assymetric or non-identical ones, but they go with anything and women love them, bizarrely!

Much like these, in fact:

Not since the NHS stated that staff had to be bare below the elbows.

Almost all of my shirts require cuff links as they're double cuffed.

Saying that I dont own any expensive links as I have a habbit of missplacing them, I just use the little material ball ones which cost a few quid a pop from charles tyrwhitt.

Wear them Monday-Thurday (Friday dress down)

I alternate between 6-7 pairs and all of them were bought for me/by me at significant times of my life. They are always worn with a double cuff shirt and trousers.

All my links are plain silver, but differing in design. I personally can't stand the cheap, humourous ones i see worn against horrible fashion shirts.

All my links are the "hinged" lock variety, as i can't be bothered to faff about with the tiny chain-link versions.

Dunhill, Ferragamo, Gucci, Cartier and Hermes have some lovely styles currently.

If I'm somewhere formal enough to wear a tie it'll be a double-cuff shirt. If it's going to be a day of sitting at a desk on a laptop though, it'll be knots rather than cufflinks because I don't like clanking away on the desk.

Usually though I don't need to be so formal, so no tie and single-cuff shirts. Cufflinks + no tie = nono as far as I'm concerned. Cufflinks on a shirt worn with jeans = loser

Wear them everyday, solid gold set that use to belong to my dad.

A gentleman isn't dressed without them.

I have many pairs of wacky Paul Smith cufflinks, works well as I only really wear plain shirts, being a fan of a detailed tie/plain shirt combo rather than vice versa. Quite often they get commented on.

I have a 'drinking arm' and 'reserve drinking arm' pair out of a cracker too!

Everyday, in fact I have very few shirts without them...

Some of the more interesting ones I've collected and worn;

1. Naval Officer's dress links for HMS Vengeance
2. Silver Austrian Commemorative Edelweiss links (mountain troop I believe)
3. Grandads old gold ones (very rarely)
4. Morph ones (brilliant) and his white pal, can't remember his name now

Plus the usual array of cheesy spirit levels, gearboxes, 'best dad', compasses, spitfires etc.! (No England flags though - phew)
