Politics is bollix
bks shirley. Must be a child of the nulabour education system. For the record, my slightly leaning left tendencies combined with my belief in achieving for yourself make me think that i am neither. I will not vote for the Conservatives because i think CMD is a false shifty little waste of evolution who mirrors Blair in his lack of substance.
I would much prefer a chance to vote for policies individually than for Parties as a whole. We have people to implement things, and then we wouldn't be able to blame anyone for the eventual fk up of the country.

I often go over to the Guardian website, just for a read through various threads in the comments section.
Some of the stuff is absolutely priceless.

Personally, I don't hold with a lot of the opinions held and displayed on PH, which is why I usually stick to the car chat and keep my political opinions to myself. But I didn't realise that you had to check your Tory donors card in to take part. I slightly resent the OP's 'Who let all that riff-raff into the room' type comment.

What is wrong with "methinks"?
It automatically identifies the user as someone who believes they are making a clever and possibly sly dig that is incredibly insightful, they are also probably quite smug that they managed to slip methinks into the dialog. As a rule of thumb I view methinkers in the same way I view chaps who wear bow ties in daylight hours .....

However, a big difference for me was that in 97, a lot of Tory voters sided with New Labour. In 2010, even after the untold damage/negligence caused by Labour, the consensus from the left appeared to be either vote lib dem (for another attempt at a lib/lab pact), or spoil your vote. Any vote for the Tories was simply out of the question.
I'll never understand that mentality.
There does appear to be a tory bias to this forum. I can only conclude that petrolheads must be, for the most, right of center!
@UKWILL
I think you are right about the anyone but Tory mentality. I'd prefer a None of the Above box on the ballot paper, but then I don't think anyone, or at least anyone with a working knowledge of how states and institutions actually work would get any votes apart from their respective party members.
What's the old saying, it doesn't matter who you vote for, the government always get in.
