Air Ambulance fuel duty petition
Discussion
Updated 19/3/14
Here’s something that did helped by just a few clicks of a mouse button -
The RNLI lifeboats have been exempt from VAT on the fuel they use since 1977 and a government petition has been set up to do the same for Air Ambulances
‘The Air Ambulance Service have saved successive governments millions and millions of pounds funded by charitable donations given by the general public to run what has proven to be an essential service.’
even though the e-petition now has over 100,000 signatures it will still only be eligible for debate in the House of Commons but not certain that it will be debated so many, many more signatures are needed for them to really take notice
a quick look at the fact page should remind you of the service’s value - http://www.airambulanceassociation.co.uk/amazing_f...

Done! Though not sure why this thread isn't in the lounge instead of Events.....
thanks Tony, I don't normally visit the Lounge but by the look at thread numbers I thought the turnover of subjects looked too brisk and that it would disappear off the first page quickly but if you'd like to post it there please do - I have to be careful about cross/multi postingand I also hoped others would spread the word too
I've just found out there's also a petition about Mountain Search and Rescue teams too - http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/14994
thanks all

it's also posted here with details of a young lad raising money for them - http://www.petrolheadnirvana.com/torque/showthread...
13 year old Dylan has decided for himself to raise funds and is:
'doing a sponsored 10 mile Go-Kart pedal to raise funds for the Bucks/Berks/Oxon Air Ambulance which is based at RAF Benson. They get no outside funding from anywhere and rely completly on donations. The average cost per flight is £2000 and usually get called out about 4 times a day.'

if you'd like to sponsor Dylan let me know and I'll send you details

he's raised an excellent £828 - so far, it would be good if even more donations came in
Hello.
Thank you very much for sponsoring me in my charity challenge. I am happy to say I was successful in my attempt today. My legs are very tired but not as tired as my Dad's legs
I will put some pictures in my Mustang forum thread in the next day or two.
Thank you for your support.
Dylan.
