"We'd like to keep you up to date
Hello ****,
We want you to make the most of your Sky package. But we've noticed that you've chosen not to receive marketing emails.
This means we can't let you know about the latest offers and news relevant to you. If you're happy to receive updates from us, it's easy to do, just let us know and we'll change your marketing preferences.
We won't bombard you with marketing or share your details with other companies for them to contact you about their products and services. And if you change your mind in the future, you'll be able to opt out at any time.
Thank you for being a Sky customer.
The Sky Team."
Do they have an option not to receive marketing emails about not receiving marketing emails?

Vodafone don't. Every time they send me a marketing text I send a STOP message, as they suggest, back to them. Then they send me another text saying my preferences will be updated in 28 days. Then they keep sending me texts. This has been going on for months.Mikeyplum said:
Delete the email and find something more important to worry about.
So much fuss over a single email. I can see it being a problem if you were receiving 2 - 3 emails a day, but a random email just to remind you that you could possibly get more from your subscription?

The irony.Delete the email and find something more important to worry about.
I will never understand how people can find the energy to post on threads that they think are about subjects that don't matter. There are hundreds of threads on PH that I think don't matter, but I've never felt inclined to post on any of them.
Because they don't matter.

I think it's good that when people start threads about their minor irritations, that other people take the trouble to post to remind them that the irritations are only minor.

I had an unsubscribing session the other day. About 50% of the co.s I unsubscribed from have sent me "Did you really mean it?" e-mails. bugs me but just deleted them and got on with life. If they send me another next month though I shall upgrade my position to "s
tty e-mail sent in reply."singlecoil said:

Sorry, I've just come back from having a lie down after spending allll that energy bashing some keys on my keyboard. By posting this, you prove that this thread matters.
Anyway, people need to post about how trivial and banal these things are to counter the frothy-mouthed loons who think you need to advise government agencies and your lawyers because you got some junk email.
