My Best Friend...

Afternoon all,
On April 11th 2010, my best friend passed away.
It is by far the hardest death i've had to deal with so far in my life & not a minute goes by that i & all of our close friends don't think about him.
He was taken from us at a young age - 23, Pneumonia was what eventually finished him off but he suffered from a young age with muscular dystrophy.
There is currently no cure for this disease & in his memory & to raise awarness for the charity over the next year, myself & a group of close friends & even Bertie's dad who's in his 60's are taking on 23 events, from Kayaking, to 10k runs, to the 24 peaks.
We're finishing it off with a banger style rally as Bertie was a true petrol head.
I know he was a lurker on here & read parts of the site everyday, although i'm not sure if he actually posted anything, he even introduced me to this site.
Our first event kicks off on 31st July 2010.
We've had a website created by him & are currently in the process of raising as much sponsorship & awareness as possible.
I appreciate that probably nobody on this site knew him, but if you'd all just look at the website & what we're trying to achieve it would mean a lot.
Apologies if the post is a bit all over the place i find it extremely difficult to type something of any sense as my emotions tend to take over.

Sorry to hear that fella. I had a similiar experience at 18 when my best mate passed away with an asthma attack while at work. My other friends where there for me though as we were a close group. Hopefully your friends will support you also.
