My boss wears a Patek. I was never sure what kind of people would buy them and it surprised me a bit.

My last boss was a cock and wore an appropriate watch, new rolex which gave the right impression to the non watch savvy. Maintained it on the cheap as well.

So, have you ever taken a guess at what watch someone might wear and been proved right or totally wrong?

Mine cost £15 from a tourist shop in Cyprus, so it would be hypocritical of me to judge.

I worry about people with massive blingy watches. I have a vintage/old Omega

Nope, I tend to wear a differnt watch every day, some of them are £15 cheap onesm some alot more!

I think a judge more on if someone actually wears a watch or not and which hand they wear it on!

I have a selection, a couple cheap and a couple expensive ones. But thats because i quite like watches, i dont see it as a "oh he must be rich as he has a casio or whatever", i pick watches on what style i like and what budget i have.

If they wear a bling watch, then yes they would be judged like a criminal in the docks. Otherwise, couldn't care less. thumbup

I like to see a nice watch but don't consider whether the wearer is a good or bad egg based on it though.

Nope, more likely to judge them if they don't use it.

No. Unless it looks something like this, then I think

Of course, I never talk to anyone unless they're wearing at least a Breguet and neither does my butler.

I wear a cheap titanium fossil for work and more expensive pieces when I am out and about.

Had a sales rep in a meeting telling once how great his Patek was and how the price was more than I made in a year. Our chairman had the same watch on, but his was an original and side by side the differences were quite apparent hehe. Was an awkward meeting after that biggrin

thats a cracking story. That rep sounds like a total and utter tool.

I wear a Seiko normally so I would hope people judge me to be thrifty yet reliable, rather than cheap and Asian.

Haven't worn one for a while. The strap on my flashy 20 quid Swatch broke earlier in the year and I haven't been arsed to replace it.

I rarely notice what watch people are wearing, and if I do, can rarely recognise the brand, and even then wouldn't know how expensive/exclusive/special the model was.

I switch between a plain silver with black face Seiko Kinetic most of the time and a Suunto T6 when I'm training.

don't notice their watch but I do clock what shoes a bloke is wearing!
Never like a man in white shoes! (Trainers excluded) they always seem slimy to me!

Funny how different things affect your impression of people!

I don't judge someone by what watch they wear, but I will have a quick glance to see if it's anything interesting smile It's a bit of a shame when someone has a particularly tasty watch, but doesn't know anything about it ...

I like watches, me biggrin I'm saving for my next piece at the moment!

I don't wear a watch, I am free from the bounds of time..and therefore you can't judge me.
