Following the worst job in the world thread what is the best job in the world?

Watching the F1 at the weekend and I was thinking probably Bernd Mayländer's must be pretty close. Travel round the world, occasionally drive a suped-up car round a race track, little stress (ok so he has to be careful not to bin it, but he is hardly on the limit), I guess he is fairly well paid.

Any others? Top surgeon must be good, saving lives etc but must be very stressful and offset by the patients who don't make it.

Don't be fooled, he is giving loads ,just looks slow compared to an f1 car

Yeah, bags of pay and lots of fun. But it is dangerous and plus its pretty cut throat, if you aren't winning then you are out.

How much is the pay? Plus the risk of being shot down. Although I guess that is fairly low.

Not so much now, but I always thought when I'm older, the Captain of the Sandbanks Chain Ferry would be a pretty sweet deal.

Between £30k and £50k by the sound of it though if you live in the barracks the rent is very low and you have a pretty good pension + other benefits.

Would be a good job for a young person if they're mad enough to do it. Yes can can be called to fly into a war zone and risk being shot down / crashing but it doesn't seem to happen that much.

Judging by the stories of one of my wife's friends, there can be substantial fringe benefits from the girls heading home on the last ferry!
