So, summer is officially over, I've searched but haven't found this year's thread anywhere so thought I'd start it myself.
We gonna see any of the white stuff this year?
If the thread is already running elsewhere then I'll skulk off in disgrace
Not made yet. You are going to get some people cursing you though, since there seems to be a correlation between when the PH snow thread for the year is started and the quality of the snowy winter, We gonna see any of the white stuff this year?

Think I will be doing a short drive to get some skiing done on Saturday, so can post some snow pictures to get you in the mood!

Pfffft - back to the summer thread please.
This thread does not open until the first predicted snow on Cairngorm (actually it's snowed on Cairngorm occasionally through out summer this year).
I checked, it's almost spot on 365 days since the last one opened!! This thread does not open until the first predicted snow on Cairngorm (actually it's snowed on Cairngorm occasionally through out summer this year).
I really want this thread re-opening soon then, I'm sick of having to put the A/C on in the flat!

AC in a flat I wish I had that in my furnace. Was that installed when you moved in or did you add it afterwards? I really want this thread re-opening soon then, I'm sick of having to put the A/C on in the flat!

It's just one of those portable ones, I stick the pipe out of the window and leave it running in the bedroom for 5-6 hours before bed. It makes a world of difference, in the worst of the weather I can get the bedroom from 28-29 degrees down to about 20 degrees by bedtime. Best money I've ever spent. The trick is to put it on for ages so that everything in the room is properly chilled, the bed, the walls, everything. That way it stays cooler for longer after you switch off (you couldn't sleep with it on unless you had good earplugs!)
I am tempted with a proper split system (water cooled with internal compressor as I can't put anything outside) but they're about £5K!
Yep, bought one of these

at the start of the summer while we've a new baby. Too noisy to sleep next to but as Oval said, chill the room and contents for a few hours before bedtime and it's great.

The Express has got to get it right one year - same old story rehashed again - but extra early, mince pies are only just out in the COOP!

I think NewsThump summed it up perfectly, with http://www.express.co.uk/news/weather/714262/UK-sn...
"Meteorologists claim this winter will see worst Daily Express weather scaremongering in THIRTY YEARS"
