Congrats, Smiffy.

Know the feeling re injuries. I bounce between niggling injuries. Had tennis elbow in my left arm which is daft seeing as I'm right handed so it must have been through lifting or gymnastics rather than actual tennis (I don't think the silly left handed session we had last September counts). Despite the injuries, I've managed to improve my shape through a bit of thoughtfulness.

Thanks hoofy.

I've bounced back today, my illness (touch wood) seems to have disappeared. Very pleased with today's session.
15 very easy reps 50kg dumbbell press with more to go and 5 reps 70kg tricep pushdowns with this machine:

First weight session in ages for me this morning. Had been doing more cardio based between injury. Lost loads of strengh but enjoyed chest session. Had a 5k run gentle run to knee feels ok to biggrin

Lack of training and to much ale means im carrying more fat than i have for a long time now redface. Jumped on the scales just out of interest im the lightest ive been for a few years lol Come back muscle i miss u not that i had much of you in the first place laugh

BodyPower tomorrow! bounce

Hoping for some inspiration and more importantly....free t-shirts (although these are more likely to be given out on the Sunday from what I hear)

Going with the wife, so I'm going to find it difficult to buy the latest 'fad' supplement hehe

Will report back on how it goes.

As a note, i'm just a mediocre type gym goer, so not a serious iron pumper.

Out of interest, the bouncers at a bodybuilding show... are they absolutely MASSIVE? I mean, normal bouncers wouldn't cut it.

There's a guy at the gym who wears them and he's going for the full 3 days. Trouble is, he's actually a really nice lad, so I kind of find myself forgiving him.

Got a new toy biggrin
Given to me by a friend, it's an axle bar. Nice thickness for me smile
I put 50mm pipe on the ends because it was 40mm prior to that

4 Weeks till holiday.

training is going....... okay :/.

trying to have a calorie defiecit high protien diet is difficult im finding. Current meals are...

Breakfast - Protien shake (low cal USN GF-1)
Lunch - Tuna/chicken/Ham/Cheese on crackerbread. low cal crisps.
Snack - Crackers with goats cheese/cream cheese
Dinner - Steak/Chicken/Fish/turkey/Egg based meals.

Only drinking Water or favloured water. No coffee, tea, coke, etc etc.

My growth is being stunted purely by not having a spotter. I feel im ready to go up to 26kg dumbell bench press, but darent because it could all go horribly wrong and nobody is there to assist!

Training 4-6 times a week.

Anyone in Hull need a training partner? biggrin

With bench-based dumbell exercises, I find the hardest bit when pushing on with heavier weights is getting them up in the first place (fnarr fnarr).

Once they're up though, you just keep pumping through until you have to drop them to your sides. Unless you actually want someone to help you get it up wink I don't think you do need a spotter.

When I was with my PT on Wednesday, I was using 30kg dumbells; simultaneously as he looked away at something I decided to 'have a rest'. No idea why; I just didn't fail but didn't continue, so was just balancing them both on my chest.

Got a sharp 'what the fk are you doing?' a he looked back to me hehe
