Thanks Tony! Can't thank everyone enough for the support and frank advice.

Got scan number three tomorrow to check what impact the Clomid is having. Missus is worried that it will be too strong and risk multiple pregnancy.

Frankly, I am terrified that nothing will have changed.

ETA - does cutting caffeine to keep myself in check mean less cups of tea? Not sure I can manage that!

Clomid does have a possibilty of multiple pregnancy, but the stats show otherwise.

We have used it twice, first time took one does, second time toik 6 months, plus we used Metphormin as my wire has underactive thyroid.

So, it can take some time for the body to adapt to Clomid.

Good luck with the scans

We have today just come back from Egg collection on attempt 4. SWMBO swears this is the last attempt and is just exhausted by it all. Shes currently asleep just trying to rest. They got 6 eggs, but we dont know if we will be able to have fresh transfer as the lining isnt quite right. Depends on how things develop over the next few days, and how many of the eggs fertilise and are strong enough to potentially survive the freezing/thawing process.

not fun times, i have no answers, and we dont have a clue day to day whats next. It was almost cancelled on thursday last week, due to things not being quite right. The clinic (bourn hall) have been brilliant and all working as hard as possible to get us a result. If any of you are looking for somewhere to look to in the east/south east then Bourn Hall are worth a look. Although we havent got the result yet (fingers crossed) we are looking for, we can not fault the care and treatment from these guys.

Just a quick update.

We had some promising news at the last scan, which showed my missus did ovulate.

woohoo

Funny how that coincided with the one month we forgot all about it and relaxed because we thought nothing could happen until she started the clomid!

The only downside being we did not try very much.

Month one proper of clomid coming up and I get my results soon. Fingers crossed, all being well this could be the first month where it is actually possible to get pregnant.....

good news.

I am still going through July's loss but at last I can see a consultant (probably the sidekick) next week as I have a good growth in there which isprobably why it happened. Though I am still banned from having any more it would be nice to get fixed

Because it takes a while doesn't mean there's a problem, as everyone is saying. Our first took 12 months and we'd started to talk to the medical people about tests.
The second took one shot. The third was conceived while my wife was on the pill. After that I daren't go near her again in case any physical contact might set off another one of the blighters.
Youngest is 15 now, mind.

True but when you are up on 18 months then things start looking like there is a problem and the stress of it not happening means it becomes even more stressful waiting and trying.

11 weeks after our miscarriage the OH's levels have finally returned to 0 which means we may be able to try again. Looking at schedules and considering our holiday starts tomorrow we may end up with little baby Tokyo Beijing h0bo. Not sure the name really works.

We`re on our third attempt. Egg collection was yesterday and we now have three embryos, two of which will be transfered on Sunday morning. Its the most stressful thing we have ever gone through and we have been through a hell of a lot over the years. Hopefully this will be our last attempt, even if it doesnt work. Adoption isnt an option in our case, so its now or never.

I can predict what most of the boys are going to say in reaction to this but I think it's got some pretty crucial information for women trying to conceive.

Site contains photographs of cervixes (cervices?) - you have been warned. smile

Anyone know how important 'morphology' is in determining virility of sperm?

Everything else was well above reference but this was a bit low (9%).

It means they're abnormally shaped, they might even have 2 or 3 tails!
This can affect the sperm's ability to reach the egg, but does not affect the DNA within it (i.e. a mishaped sperm doesn't mean your baby will come out with 3 tails!).
Did they also say you had low motility?

The affect this will have on your ability to conceive will depend on the type of morphology, but this isn't always a permanent thing. The typical things of alcohol, smoking, poor diet and hot boll*x can all cause sperm morphology.

Motility I think was good - 22% rapid, 29% slow, 25% non-progressive, 24% immotile. Reference is 50% motile which I would assume includes rapid, slow and non-progressive?

I don't smoke or drink, eat fairly well.

Better get some boxers with an inbuilt fan....
