Thanks for the thoughts people. My OH has now gone through the miscarriage naturally so doesn't need any medical help. We are obviously gutted but I am back in work today and she is off for two weeks.
I can't get rid of the feeling that I should be home with her and just tell work I'm not in the right frame of mind to do my job at the moment and I'll take it unpaid
I feel useless.

Hey Donatello,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss, you & your wife must be devastated.
My wife & I lost our little boy, he was still born 2 weeks after his due date, last year. We have since lost another pregnancy at 8 weeks. My wife is currently 13 weeks pregnant, and we are treading on eggshells.
I tell you this for some hope for the future, and in a little while to start to look forward. It is difficult for us blokes get our heads around. You go from extreme hope & happiness for the future, to empty !
We just figured that you can't fight nature, and unfortunately as our consultant told us, every pregnancy doesn't lead to a baby. Until that was spelt out to me, it never even occurred to me.
I wish you luck and love, and feel free to PM me if you want. Happy to talk

I'm sorry to hear about your losses. We went through 6 years of fertility treatment before our little girl arrived, so whilst I know something of the desperate longing for a child, I can't imagine how awful it must be to lose a baby, at any stage. Fingers crossed that this pregnancy is successful for you both.

It's really hard when you've lost a child - we lost our daughter at three days old just over a year ago. When I got pregnant again, it was horrendously stressful; every twinge or pain I got, I worried. And then would worry that the worrying was detrimental to the baby! No matter what anyone said, however many tests we had done, I was still paranoid that there would be something wrong because of how badly they screwed up last time. Thankfully, as you can see, we now have a healthy baby boy - so wishing you lots of luck with your wife's pregnancy

Have been following these threads ever since we started trying and to keep tabs on friend Nicol@'s progress as well ![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
Finally we can report some progress!
After our first infertility Dr's appointment on the 28th December, we fell pregnant next cycle and we had our 12 week scan yesterday, I was put forward to 13 weeks plus 1 day, which was good, baby was waving and moving about for us, so much so it wouldn't get in the right position for the nurse
The only downside was the nuchal measurement was higher than the limit at 3.9mm so we are now awaiting test results from that for our risk factor, fingers crossed it's OK
Putting pic in but work does not allow me to view it, so hope it's the right one![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Ave x
Aww congratulations Dianne, fingers crossed for the Nuchal tests.
We're 24 weeks now, no idea where the time has gone. Belly is huge and bump Noah is very active and kicking hard. Already get the odd bump stuck out when he stretches out under my ribs.
My OH had his MRI & CT scans for his cancer so we're back at the Churchill on Thursday for the results to see the extent of the spread. He is penciled in for the 19th April for surgery.
Trying to stay relaxed and supportive for both baby and him isn't easy.

Great news Di (and Matt). We've recently had two friends with nuchal measurements the same level. They were both offered CVS in the end and both ruled out Down Syndrome, so I'm sure you'll be find and there are now perfectly safe (for baby) ways of ruling out anything nasty.
We're 34 weeks on Monday. Our daughter was born at 34 and 5 because of the condition my wife had which I've already discussed here, and whilst she doesn't have that condition this time the obstetrician has warned us to expect an early delivery again. So we're ready to go - some clothes to wash and I need to go and pick up the converter kit to turn our iCandy into a double (anyone thinking of buying a Bugaboo, don't. It's the same price as iCandy but doesn't convert if you end up having another one) and get some clothes out of the loft. Apart from that, bags are packed and we're all ready. Which of course means that we'll be induced at 41 weeks....

Fabulous news Diane! Really pleased for you ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
25 weeks for me, some fluttering movements, but with placenta at the front still means they're very light and no chance of other half feeling them yet![frown](/inc/images/frown.gif)
We've finally started on being organised, nursery cleared last weekend, painting began (and stopped when we realised the magnolia we're touching up was with matt and not silk.....), Recaro car seat ordered, and nursery furniture too.
Friends have been astoundingly generous with hand me downs, we've really not had to buy anything in the grand scheme of things. Oh and MIL has got to grips with knitting again.....

We've had loads of people around us have childen and become pregnant so I don't think we'd be in short supply either, we have bought one thing already which was a winter all in one like the one on the corner of Avrils bed and I'm sure both Grandmas will be stocking up as we go along ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
Really nice to have this thread in here as a lot of the pregnancy forums are quite girlie and OTT![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
