Heh, just checked - looks like my heart rate is around 45bmp.

Cool!
It's only cool if you are VERY fit, otherwise you have Absolute Bradycaria: a medical condition which needs investigating.

The fact your are suffering from Vasovagal and Bradycardia means (to me) that something is wrong somewhere and you should get it checked out.

Yeah I agree. Dunno how I missed his RHR. Could be very fit, but given his issues, it could be something else. Apply Occam's Razor at all times.

Amazing how few people actually read a short thread properly before posting isn't it?

What's interesting is that some seem prepared to post comments that could lead to some real worry and concern to the OPs...based on incomplete information.

He said he's training hard, lost a lot of weight and would class himself as fit.

That's enough for me?

It might explain the HR but not the Vasovagal episodes.

Ha, isn't that always the way? It's a car forum, not a doctor's surgery. If you were really serious about concrete advice, you'd see a professional. IMO, if posts on a forum prompt someone to go and see a professional than continually asking average people on a forum, then all the better.

No,this is the Health Matters forum.

I don't think you can speak for all the people who post on here Matt, and whether they're serious or not..or just a bit worried?
I'm sure every poster on here tries to be as helpful and accurate as possible when offering 'advice',but this advice is surely impaired if the poster has not read the previous posts.

smile

ETA Apologies Matt if the above looks like I'm having a go at you personally - I'm not.

I suffer from very high blood pressure and I am on several meds.

Now (after taking these meds) when I lean forward my head feels as if it's going to explode with sharp pain and when I stand up my heart pumps really fast for a few seconds and often I feel as if I am about to pass out.

Very debilitating in as much I now won't bend down to lift anything when I can avoid it as it scares me and I have fallen over several times from being dizzy.

Dr says it's because of the meds and my body will not react quickly enough to raise blood pressure but because my blood pressure is so high I need to stay on them.

It's getting worse though. Starting to get more than a tad worried frown

Do your meds end in 'dol' or 'lol'? These are beta blockers which stop your heart from speeding up. Good at reducing BP but can also have the effects above as your heart cannot compensate when it needs to work harder.

Go and see your doc again/another doc.

I stopped drinking recently, I've dropped a little weight, and I'm training much harder now - without sounding like a cock, I'm reasonably fit.

I suspected low blood pressure, but possibly also a large calorie deficit also... I'd read that can cause these things.
I get this, it's low blood sugar. I once fainted in the street, you need to eat a bit more.

I take it as a sign that i'm doing enough training. hehe

If it's any help I'm 6'3", lean, fit and after running for eg if I sit down for 2 minutes and then stand up I invariably have to crouch or lie down on the floor to avoid falling over. This can go on for an hour or two afterwards.

Also happens in the gym after squats, deadlifts etc

Have had all the heart checks etc and no problems.

How tall are you?
